Day 1 - Salta
On arrival at Aeropuerto Internacional Martín Miguel de Güemes, we’ll meet you and transfer you to your hotel. In the afternoon, we explore Salta’s colonial centre – strolling through Plaza 9 de Julio and pausing at the Catedral Basílica de Salta and the Iglesia de San Francisco. We visit the Museo de Arqueología de Alta Montaña to learn about high–Andean Inca history, then head up Cerro San Bernardo for panoramic views over the city and surrounding valleys. We continue to the nearby village of San Lorenzo – set amid subtropical greenery – before returning to your hotel. Your evening is at leisure – you can dine locally or simply relax. Overnight in Salta.
Day 2 - Salta - Cafayate
After breakfast, we depart Salta for a scenic road journey through the Lerma Valley, passing small villages en route to the Quebrada de las Conchas. Along this dramatic canyon, we stop to view distinctive rock formations – including the Devil’s Throat and the Amphitheatre – shaped by wind and water over millions of years. We continue to Cafayate, a town surrounded by vineyards and renowned for high–altitude wines, where we visit a local winery to learn about the winemaking process and enjoy a tasting of regional varietals, with Torrontés a highlight. We return to Salta in the afternoon. Overnight in Salta.
Day 3 - Salta - Purmamarca
After breakfast, we leave Salta and follow a scenic mountain route towards Purmamarca. We ascend the Cuesta de Lipán to reach the Salinas Grandes – an immense salt flat at over 3,400 metres – where we learn about traditional salt extraction and take time to walk across the salt crust. On the return journey, we stop in Purmamarca – you can wander its streets, browse the artisan market and admire the Cerro de los Siete Colores. We arrive back in Salta in the afternoon. Overnight in Salta.
Day 4 - Salta
After breakfast, you have a little time at leisure to enjoy your final moments in Salta – your pick-up time will align with your flight schedule. We’ll transfer you to Aeropuerto Internacional Martín Miguel de Güemes in time for your onward flight. We hope your stay has been memorable and that you leave with lasting impressions of Northern Argentina.
