Itinerary

Day 1 - Halifax

Arrive in Halifax and check into your centrally located accommodation, ideally situated in the heart of this dynamic and cosmopolitan city on the Atlantic coast.

Overnight: Halifax
Day 2 - Halifax to Cape Breton Island

Halifax - Baddeck. Departing Halifax, we head towards New Glasgow, where we’ll meet our tour guide, as well as our fellow travellers. From there, we’ll continue our journey across the Canso Causeway to the enchanting Cape Breton Island, often referred to as the Scotland of North America. Once we arrive, we’ll enjoy a scenic boat tour of the breathtaking Bras d’Or Lake, taking in the beauty of the area from the water. We’ll spend the next two nights in the picturesque village of Baddeck, soaking up the charm of this lovely destination.

Day 3 - The Cabot Trail

Today, we embark on one of North America's most scenic drives, the Cabot Trail. This stunning route winds along Cape Breton’s rugged northern coastline, offering spectacular views as it ascends to the dramatic plateaus of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The look-offs provide breathtaking vistas of the coastline, so we’ll be sure to have our cameras ready to capture the unforgettable landscapes. We’ll also visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site, where we’ll discover the incredible achievements of the inventor who made Cape Breton his home.

Day 4 - Fortress of Louisbourg

Baddeck - Halifax. Step back in time at the Fortress of Louisbourg, a meticulously reconstructed 18th-century French stronghold. We wander through its bustling streets and interact with costumed interpreters who bring history to life. Afterward, we make our way along the shores of Bras d’Or Lake, returning to Halifax with a deeper appreciation of Cape Breton’s past and present.
