Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to Chengdu

On arrival in Chengdu, we are met by our local guide and driver before transferring to the hotel, a journey of around 40 minutes. The remainder of the day is at leisure, giving you time to rest after your journey or begin exploring the city at your own pace.
Day 2 - Pandas and Historic Chengdu

After breakfast at the hotel, we visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, where we see China’s most famous residents in a carefully protected natural environment. The centre plays an important role in panda conservation and breeding programmes.
We enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to People’s Park, a lively public space that offers a glimpse into daily life in Chengdu. Locals gather here to socialise, drink tea and enjoy traditional pastimes.
Later, we explore the Wide and Narrow Alleys, a well-preserved historic area showcasing architecture from the Ming and Qing dynasties. These atmospheric streets reflect Chengdu’s blend of long history and modern urban life.
Day 3 - Sichuan Flavours and Rural Traditions

Following breakfast, we drive to the Sichuan Cuisine Museum. Here, we learn about the history, development and distinctive ingredients of Sichuan cooking, known for its bold flavours and use of chilli and peppercorns. We take part in a hands-on cooking class with a master chef before tasting and evaluating the dishes we have prepared.
After lunch, we travel to Chongzhou to enjoy the rural scenery of western Sichuan. We visit the Bamboo Weaving Museum, where we learn about this traditional craft that has been passed down through generations. Guided by a heritage artisan, we try bamboo weaving ourselves and create a handmade souvenir to take home. We then return to Chengdu and our hotel.
Day 4 - Chengdu Departure
After breakfast at the hotel, you have free time at leisure until we transfer to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
