Day 1 - Paris
Welcome to Paris. Upon arrival, we’ll transfer you to your hotel, where you’ll have some free time to settle in and relax. In the afternoon, we’ll provide all the essential information about the start of your tour, either through a brief in-person session or via information displays at the hotel reception. This will help you prepare for the days ahead.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour.
Day 2 - Paris
We begin the day with a visit to the magnificent Palace of Versailles, famed for its grand architecture and extensive gardens (admission not included). On our return to Paris, we explore Montmartre – a vibrant district known for its artistic heritage, lively cafés, and cabarets. To capture the essence of the city, we then take a panoramic tour with a local guide, passing impressive boulevards and iconic landmarks. After the tour, we return to the hotel. In the evening, you have the option to attend a variety show to experience Parisian nightlife.
Day 3 - Paris - Rouen
We begin the day in central Paris with a visit to the iconic Eiffel Tower, where we ascend to the second floor—tickets are included. Following this, we take a relaxing boat cruise along the Seine, offering a fresh perspective on the city’s landmarks. The afternoon is free for you to explore Paris at your own pace. Around 4:00 p.m., we depart Paris and travel to Normandy, arriving in Rouen. Here, you’ll have free time to discover the historic centre, notable for its medieval architecture and impressive Gothic cathedral. Please note that if queues at the Eiffel Tower are long, we may reschedule the visit to a later time or the following day for your convenience.
Day 4 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
We’ll start the day with a stroll through the centre of Rouen, taking in its historic streets and notable medieval architecture. Afterwards, we’ll travel north through France to Calais or another port on the English Channel. Here, we’ll board a ferry, crossing into England and arriving in Canterbury, renowned as the religious heart of the country with its charming historic centre. From Canterbury, we’ll continue to London, where you’ll have some free time to explore around Tower Bridge, one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks, before we transfer you to the hotel for the evening.
Day 5 - London
We begin the day with a panoramic tour of London led by a local guide, offering insight into the city’s rich history and culture. You’ll see key landmarks including the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames, and Buckingham Palace, where there’s a chance to witness the Changing of the Guard, subject to the schedule. In the evening, we’ll meet in Piccadilly to enjoy a guided walk through Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho—areas famed for their vibrant atmosphere, theatres, and diverse entertainment. You’ll have plenty of options to choose from for dinner before we return to the hotel.
Day 6 - London - Colchester - Colchester - Volendam Ferry
This morning, we’ll visit the British Museum, one of the world’s oldest museums, where we’ll explore collections that trace cultures from across the globe. Around lunchtime, after some free time, we’ll head to Camden, a vibrant district known for its eclectic street market. Here, you can browse a wide range of unique items and enjoy lunch at one of the many small restaurants or food stalls. At approximately 4:00 p.m., we’ll travel to Colchester, England’s oldest recorded town, where we’ll take a relaxed walk through its historic streets. Later, we continue to Harwich to board the ferry for an overnight crossing to the Netherlands. We’ll stay in en suite cabins on board. Please note that due to limited cabin availability, the itinerary may be adjusted so the journey might include a daytime ferry from London to Amsterdam with an overnight stay in Antwerp, or travel by train or flight instead.
Day 7 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry - Volendam - Amsterdam
We arrive in the Netherlands at Hoek van Holland around 8:00 a.m. and travel to Volendam, a charming fishing village known for its traditional harbour and distinctive architecture. From there, we continue to Amsterdam for a guided tour that highlights several city landmarks, including the iconic windmill, the Rembrandt statue, the modern South District, and Museum Square where diamond cutting has a long-standing history. The tour concludes with a walk into Amsterdam’s city centre, where you will have free time to explore at your leisure.
Day 8 - Amsterdam - Hamelin - Berlin
We depart Amsterdam and travel east into Germany, stopping first in Hamelin – a charming town famous for its association with the Pied Piper legend, featuring quaint streets and shops that reflect its fairy-tale heritage. Continuing the journey, we pass through Marienborn, once a key border crossing between East and West Germany until reunification in 1990. In the evening, we arrive in Berlin, where the night is yours to settle in and prepare for the days ahead.
Day 9 - Berlin
We begin the day with a guided tour of Berlin, Germany’s dynamic capital. From the coach, you’ll see key landmarks including Museum Island, the Television Tower, the city’s main shopping streets, the ruins of the old cathedral damaged in World War II, the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, and expansive city parks. We stop to visit the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum — poignant sites that reflect Germany’s 20th-century history. The afternoon is yours to explore Berlin independently. Early evening, we transfer you to the vibrant Kantstrasse district, known for its diverse dining options and lively atmosphere.
Day 10 - Berlin - Dresden - Prague
We travel through forested landscapes to reach Dresden, a city celebrated for its remarkable architecture and artistic heritage, making it one of Germany’s foremost cultural destinations. You’ll have time to explore some of the impressive palaces and enjoy lunch at one of the city’s many restaurants or cafés. Later, we continue to the Czech Republic, arriving in Prague. We’ll head to the lively Old Town Square, an ideal spot to begin your exploration of the city’s vibrant atmosphere and tourist attractions. You can choose from a wide range of dining options offering Czech, Chinese, Indian, and Italian cuisine before we return to the hotel.
Day 11 - Prague
Today we explore Prague, often called the Baroque jewel of Europe. A local guide will lead us on a panoramic tour of the city’s most remarkable landmarks, including a visit to Prague Castle, with admission included. Afterwards, we’ll enjoy a boat cruise along the Vltava River. The afternoon is yours to discover Prague at your leisure.
Day 12 - Prague - Munich - Innsbruck
We depart early for Bavaria, arriving in Munich around midday. You’ll have free time to explore the historic city centre at your own pace and enjoy lunch independently. In the afternoon, we continue into Austria, reaching Innsbruck in the heart of the Alps. There will be time to discover this Tyrolean capital on foot, including the Golden Roof area and the Old Town. You may also choose to have dinner locally before we return to the hotel.
Day 13 - Innsbruck - Zurich
We begin the day with a visit to the Swarovski Museum, home to the world-famous crystal brand. We’ll explore its striking gardens and discover how these exquisite pieces are crafted. Afterwards, you’ll have some free time to wander at your leisure before we set off for Zurich. The journey offers scenic views of the Tyrolean Alps. On arrival in Zurich, spend the evening in the historic city centre by the lake, where you can choose from a variety of restaurants serving Indian, Oriental, Italian, international and Swiss cuisine.
Day 14 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today’s journey takes us through some of Switzerland’s most stunning landscapes of towering mountains and crystal-clear lakes. We begin in the Interlaken region, stopping in the charming village of Grindelwald for coffee before taking a cable car up the mountain. From there, we’ll follow a winding path to a suspended bridge, offering spectacular views of the surrounding glaciers for those who wish to cross it. Lunch is included on the mountain before we make our way down. Our next stop is Lucerne, where you’ll have free time to explore one of Switzerland’s most beautiful cities and enjoy its picturesque streets. We’ll return to Zurich in the evening. For those interested, the guide will offer an optional full-day excursion starting in the morning, including free time in Lucerne followed by a rotating cable car ride to the summit of Mount Titlis, standing over 3,000 metres above sea level, with breathtaking views of the Alps and glaciers.
Day 15 - Zurich - Bellinzona - Como - Milan
We depart Zurich early, crossing the Alps into the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland. Our first stop is Bellinzona, famed for its trio of medieval castles recognised as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These hilltop fortresses reflect the town’s historical role as a key alpine stronghold. You’ll have time to explore the charming old streets at your leisure. Next, we enter Italy and visit the picturesque town of Como for lunch. Known as the jewel of Lombardy, Como features beautiful lakeside gardens and an impressive cathedral. After lunch, we continue to Milan, where our guide will take us to the striking Piazza del Duomo. You’ll have some free time to explore before we transfer you to the hotel for the evening.
Day 16 - Milan - Pisa - Rome
Today we continue to Pisa, where we’ll take a short tourist train to the Piazza dei Miracoli, also known as the Square of Miracles. Here, you’ll have time to admire this remarkable ensemble of Italian art and architecture, including the world-famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Later, we’ll travel onwards to Rome, arriving in the evening.
Day 17 - Rome
In the morning, we’ll take a three-hour guided tour of Rome, combining a walking exploration of Imperial Rome with a panoramic coach ride to see some of the city’s most significant landmarks. We’ll visit the Arch of Constantine, view the exterior of the Colosseum and the Imperial Forums, and pass the Circus Maximus, Baths of Caracalla, Basilica of Saint Mary Major, Pyramid of Cestius, and Castel Sant’Angelo. The tour concludes at Vatican City around 11:00 a.m., where you can choose to join an optional visit to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel. Later in the day, we include a transfer to the vibrant Trastevere district, known for its welcoming restaurants and lively atmosphere. We’ll return to the hotel by approximately 8:30 p.m.
Day 18 - Rome - Madrid
At the time advised by your guide, we’ll transfer you to the airport for your included domestic flight from Rome to Madrid. On arrival, you’ll be met and taken to your hotel. Your guide will be in touch by late afternoon, or you can check the information displayed at your hotel reception. Please note that domestic flights typically allow one checked suitcase of up to 20kg; any excess baggage charges must be paid directly to the airline.
Day 19 - Madrid
We begin the day with a thorough tour of central Madrid, taking in key landmarks such as Paseo del Prado, Cibeles, Neptuno, Puerta de Alcalá, Plaza de Colón, and Plaza Mayor. Next, we visit Retiro Park, a peaceful green space in the heart of the city, where we’ll see the lake and the exquisite Palacio de Cristal. Admission to the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium is included, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the home of Real Madrid, one of the world’s most celebrated football clubs. The afternoon is free for you to explore Madrid at your leisure. In the evening, a transfer will take you back to the hotel.
Day 20 - Madrid - Zaragoza - Poblet - Barcelona
We depart Madrid in the morning, travelling through Castile towards the region of Aragon. Our first stop is Zaragoza, where we admire the impressive Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, a remarkable example of Baroque architecture and an important pilgrimage site. We then continue to Poblet Abbey, one of the best-preserved medieval monasteries in Europe, where admission is included. After exploring the tranquil surroundings of the abbey, we make our way to Barcelona, arriving in the evening.
Day 21 - Barcelona
This morning we’ll enjoy a panoramic tour of Barcelona, one of Europe’s most vibrant capitals. Open to the Mediterranean Sea, the city is famed for Gaudí’s remarkable modernist architecture, its bustling Ramblas, and the lasting impact of the World Expositions and Olympic Games. The tour concludes at Maremagnum, a contemporary leisure and dining complex beside the sea near Columbus Square, where you can explore this lively area at your own pace. The afternoon is free for you to relax or discover more of the city before we return to the hotel at the end of the day.
Day 22 - Barcelona
After breakfast, the tour concludes, offering you time to reflect on your experiences and prepare for your onward journey.
