Itinerary
Day 1 - Paris
On arrival in Paris, we arrange your transfer to the hotel so you can settle in and relax. You then have some free time to unwind or take a short stroll nearby. In the afternoon, we’ll share details about the start of your tour – either in person at a brief welcome meeting or via information displayed at hotel reception.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Paris
We visit the Palace of Versailles – admission not included – renowned for its gardens. Returning to Paris, we head to Montmartre, the bohemian neighbourhood famous for its artists, painters and cabarets. We then take a panoramic city tour with a local guide to see the city’s grand avenues and iconic monuments before returning to the hotel. In the evening, you can choose to attend an optional variety show.
Day 3 - Paris - Rouen
We begin in central Paris with a visit to the Eiffel Tower – tickets included to the second floor – followed by a leisurely cruise on the Seine. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your own pace. Around 4.00 pm we depart Paris for Normandy and arrive in Rouen, where you’ll have time to discover the historic centre, which dates back to Roman times and features medieval architecture and an impressive Gothic cathedral. Note: if queues at the Eiffel Tower are too long, we may reschedule the visit for a different time – or on Sunday – for your convenience.
Day 4 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
After time to stroll through Rouen’s centre, we travel north through France and cross the English Channel by ferry. We arrive in Canterbury – the religious capital of England – known for its historic centre, before continuing to London. On arrival you have free time around the Tower Bridge area – one of the city’s most iconic symbols – before we head to the hotel.
Day 5 - London
We discover London on a panoramic tour with a local guide, exploring its history and culture as we take in the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames and Buckingham Palace – where, depending on the date, we may see the Changing of the Guard. In the evening, we meet in Piccadilly for a guided stroll through Leicester Square, Chinatown and Soho, known for their lively atmosphere and theatres. You can choose a restaurant for dinner before we return to the hotel.
Day 6 - London - Colchester - Colchester - Volendam Ferry
This morning we visit the British Museum – one of the world’s oldest – to explore collections spanning cultures from across the globe. After some free time, we head to Camden at lunchtime, renowned for its lively street market – you can browse the eclectic stalls and choose lunch from its small restaurants and food stands. At about 4.00 pm we depart for Colchester – England’s oldest recorded town – for a relaxed stroll through its historic centre, before continuing to Harwich to board the overnight ferry to the Netherlands. We stay in en suite cabins. Important note: due to limited cabin availability, the route may be adjusted – we might travel from London to Amsterdam by daytime ferry with an overnight in Antwerp, or alternatively take a train or flight to Amsterdam.
Day 7 - Colchester - Volendam Ferry - Volendam - Amsterdam
Around eight in the morning we dock in the Netherlands at Hoek van Holland, then continue to Volendam – a traditional fishing village. From there we travel to Amsterdam for a guided tour that brings together key highlights: the classic image of the windmill and the Rembrandt statue, the contemporary elegance of the South District, and the centuries-old craft of diamond cutting around Museum Square. We finish at Central Station, where our guide will share practical tips so you can explore the canals and street markets independently.
Day 8 - Amsterdam - Brussels - Paris
After breakfast, we travel into Belgium – just over 200 km to Brussels, the capital and home to key European institutions, where elegance meets a multicultural spirit. Before reaching the centre, we make a brief stop at the Atomium, the city’s most iconic landmark. In the historic heart, we admire the ornate Grand Place and stroll past the symbolic Manneken Pis – a snapshot of Brussels’ blend of history, chocolate and modern life. In the afternoon, we continue into France, arriving in Paris towards the end of the day. Our journey concludes here – please check your flight time in case you need an additional night.
