Day 1 - Paris
Welcome to Paris, the starting point of your exciting adventure. Upon arrival, we’ll take care of your transfer to the hotel, allowing you some leisure time to settle in and unwind. Use this opportunity to explore the charming surroundings or simply relax, preparing for the journey ahead. In the afternoon, be sure to visit the hotel reception, where helpful boards will provide all the essential information about the commencement of your tour.
Day 2 - Paris
On the second day, we will delve into France's rich past with a visit to the breathtaking Palace of Versailles – renowned for its dazzling gardens and grand architecture. Please note that entry is not included in your tour package. As we return to Paris, we'll explore Montmartre, a lively neighbourhood celebrated for its artistic flair and historic cabarets. Here, the creative spirit of bygone painters and performers still lingers. To witness Paris's splendour, we'll embark on a guided panoramic city tour, taking in the city's wide boulevards and iconic landmarks. After our explorations, we will return to the hotel. In the evening, you may opt to enjoy a variety show that promises an entertaining end to your day.
Day 3 - Paris
Today, we begin our exploration in central Paris with a visit to the renowned Eiffel Tower. You'll have the opportunity to ascend to the second floor of this iconic iron structure, with tickets included in your itinerary. Following this, we'll embark on a leisurely cruise along the River Seine, which will last approximately an hour and fifteen minutes. The afternoon is yours to enjoy as you wish, allowing you to delve into the charms of Paris at your own pace. Please note that transportation back to the hotel is not provided. In the event of long queues at the Eiffel Tower, we may need to reschedule our visit to a later time or perhaps to Sunday, ensuring a smoother experience for you.
Day 4 - Paris - Burgundy - Beaune - Lyon
Today we travel through the scenic heart of France, venturing into the renowned Bourgogne region, celebrated for its picturesque vineyards and distinguished wines. Our first stop is the charming town of Beaune in the centre of Burgundy, where you can explore its delightful flower-lined streets, visit the historic hospice, or discover the fascinating wine museum during your free time. After lunch and a leisurely stroll, we continue to Lyon, a city of rich history and a former capital of Roman Gaul, situated beautifully along the Rhône River. The city’s historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage site. We'll ascend to Notre-Dame de Fourvière via cable car, offering us breathtaking views of the city below. You’ll have the afternoon at your leisure to explore Lyon’s vibrant streets. Please note, some groups may stay overnight in Chambéry, a charming city near Lyon, known for its medieval allure and stunning castle. If staying in Chambéry, you will have time the next morning to explore its historic centre before we continue our journey.
Day 5 - Lyon - Geneva - Zurich
Today, we journey into Switzerland with our first stop in Geneva. Here, we'll take in the sights of the Palace of Nations, the European headquarters of the United Nations, and enjoy a stroll around the lovely English Garden, home to the celebrated flower clock. Be sure to admire the impressive Jet d'Eau, Europe's tallest fountain. After lunch, our adventure continues along the scenic routes by Lake Geneva and Lake Neuch?tel. As we travel through the Three Lakes region, we're treated to views of rolling vineyards framed by majestic mountains. We'll pause in Neuch?tel, offering you the chance to wander along the lakeside, explore the historic streets, or visit the enchanting 10th-century castle. Our day concludes as we reach Zurich late in the afternoon. Please note that depending on the number of travellers heading to Zurich from Geneva, this segment may be completed by train, which would mean foregoing the stop in Neuch?tel.
Day 6 - Zurich
Today, we will delve into Zurich, Switzerland's largest city and a hub of finance and culture. As we explore, you’ll discover why Zurich consistently ranks as having one of the highest qualities of life worldwide. We will then embark on a delightful cruise of nearly two hours across Lake Zurich, punctuated by brief stops to explore the charming villages that line the route. Our journey reaches Rapperswil, famed for its medieval castle and picturesque setting. From there, we will experience the Swiss railway system's hallmark efficiency and punctuality during our return to Zurich by train. Please note that depending on the size of our group, transfers to and from the city centre might be conducted via public transport.
Day 7 - Zurich - Lucerne
Today, you will be treated to some of Switzerland's most stunning landscapes, featuring towering mountains and sparkling lakes as we venture into the beautiful Interlaken region. Our first stop is the picturesque village of Grindelwald, where we will pause for a refreshing coffee before ascending the mountain by cable car. At the top, you'll find a winding path that leads to a suspended bridge. Adventurous travellers will relish crossing it, as it provides breathtaking views of the surrounding glaciers. We’ll enjoy lunch on the mountain as part of our journey before descending.Our exploration continues to Lucerne, one of Switzerland's most captivating cities. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to soak in the enchanting cityscape and perhaps indulge in some local culture or shopping at your leisure. In the late afternoon, we will make our way back to Zurich. For those seeking further adventure, our guide offers an optional full-day excursion, which includes free time in Lucerne followed by a trip up Mount Titlis on a rotating cable car to enjoy spectacular alpine views from over 3,000 metres above sea level.
Day 8 - Zurich - Strasbourg - Paris
On the final day of our journey, we set off from Zurich towards the picturesque French region of Alsace, home to its capital, Strasbourg. This enchanting city is an intriguing blend of French and German influences. You will have the opportunity to wander its charming streets and soak in the unique atmosphere. After your exploration, we resume our journey to Paris, where we will arrive in the evening. As our tour concludes, we hope you've gathered a collection of wonderful memories to cherish. Please check your flight timings and consider if an additional night's stay in Paris might be needed.
