Day 1 - Berlin
On the first day of your journey, you will arrive in Berlin, warmly welcomed and smoothly transferred to your hotel, where you will have some time to unwind after your travels. During the afternoon, you can locate information about the beginning of your tour on the notice boards in the hotel reception area. Please be aware that our group may expand or contract as different travellers join or depart along the route, although the group size will always remain within comfortable limits. Enjoy your initial hours in this vibrant city, where history and modernity intertwine seamlessly, setting the stage for the experiences ahead. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Berlin
On the second day, we dive into the heart of Berlin, Germany’s vibrant capital, with a guided panoramic tour. We'll explore the historic city centre, taking in sights such as Museum Island, the Reichstag, and the iconic Brandenburg Gate. Our journey through Berlin also includes visits to its bustling shopping streets and serene parks. You'll gain a deeper understanding of the city's poignant history with visits to the Holocaust Memorial and the Berlin Wall Memorial Museum. If you wish, there's an optional excursion to Potsdam, a city renowned for its stunning palaces and rich history.
Day 3 - Berlin - Wolfsburg - Celle - Hannover
On day three, we journey to Lower Saxony to explore the city of Wolfsburg, established in 1938 for workers at the Volkswagen plant, which still remains central to the city's identity. Our visit includes entry to Autostadt, the fascinating automotive-themed attraction, where you can wander through its gardens and exhibitions before pausing for lunch. In the afternoon, we continue to the picturesque town of Celle, distinguished by its charming old town filled with half-timbered houses from the 16th and 17th centuries, as well as a striking Renaissance castle. Our day concludes in Hannover, the vibrant capital of Lower Saxony, renowned as a centre for commerce, culture, and science. Here, you'll have the opportunity to delve into its unique blend of historical and contemporary architecture set amid sprawling parks. Accommodations for the night will be in Hannover.
Day 4 - Hannover - Hamburg - Flensburg - Aarhus
Following breakfast, we journey to Hamburg, where we explore the city's bustling port area on the banks of the Elbe River. Known for its maritime heritage, Hamburg offers a blend of lively architecture and cultural richness. After enjoying lunch, our travels continue to Flensburg, a charming coastal town complete with a marina, just a stone's throw from the Danish border. This pretty locale provides a picturesque seaside setting. We then proceed along the Jutland peninsula, ultimately reaching Aarhus—Denmark's second-largest city, renowned for its vibrant cultural scene and historical landmarks.
Day 5 - Aarhus - Kristiansand Ferry - Kristiansand - Stavanger
Our day begins with travel to Hirtshals, where we board a ferry for a three-hour voyage across the North Sea to Kristiansand in Norway. This scenic passage offers splendid views, and there's typically time to enjoy lunch onboard. Upon arrival, our exploration of Norway's picturesque southern coast commences. We make a stop in the quaint town of Flekkefjord, celebrated for its charm and beauty. Our day concludes in Stavanger, a vibrant town located at the head of a fjord, known for its lively port and captivating landscapes. Please be aware that ferry schedules vary with the seasons.
Day 6 - Stavanger - Bergen
As we depart from Stavanger, we’ll pause at the striking Swords in Rock monument, which commemorates Norway’s Viking heritage. Our journey will lead us through Norway's captivating fjord landscapes, navigating a series of tunnels and bridges, and includes some scenic segments by boat. Among these marvels, you’ll find the world’s deepest undersea tunnel. The two boat crossings offer a serene and picturesque experience, perfectly showcasing the natural beauty of the region. We’ll arrive in Bergen just in time for lunch. Afterward, we venture up Mount Fløyen via cable car, where you’ll be treated to spectacular vistas of the town and the surrounding Bergen fjord. Your afternoon is yours to explore at leisure, allowing you to discover why Bergen is esteemed as the capital city of the fjords.
Day 7 - Bergen - Sognefjord - Oslo
Today, we continue our journey through Norway’s inspiring landscapes, heading towards the majestic Sognefjord, renowned as Norway’s largest fjord. En route, we will pause to marvel at the exquisite Tvindefossen Waterfall, a sight not to be missed. Our day features a delightful cruise from Gudvangen to Aurland, where you'll be surrounded by breathtaking scenery during the hour-and-a-half voyage—having lunch on board is recommended to enhance your experience.Our adventure proceeds through snowy terrains and the impressive Aurland Tunnel—the longest tunnel in the world. We'll take a moment to appreciate the exterior of the Borgund Stave Church, which stands as the best-preserved medieval wooden church in Norway, offering a glimpse into the country's rich history.Upon arriving in Oslo, you'll have leisure time to explore the Norwegian capital’s vibrant port, its bustling main streets, and the artistic marvels of Frogner Park, making for an enriching end to your day.
Day 8 - Oslo - Orebro - Stockholm
Today, we begin with a guided panoramic tour of Oslo, showcasing this Norwegian capital's blend of vibrant modern architecture, classical buildings, and expansive parks adorned with sculptures. Oslo's recognition as the European Green Capital is well-earned, given its commitment to sustainability and its stunning natural surroundings. After our tour, you'll have free time to explore the city at your leisure. As we depart for Sweden, we journey through picturesque landscapes of forests and lakes before arriving in Örebro. This historic town, nestled by a tranquil lake, is renowned for its charming old town and impressive castle. Enjoy a leisurely stroll to soak in the ambience before we continue on to Stockholm, where we will arrive in the evening.
Day 9 - Stockholm
Today we will set off on a panoramic exploration of Stockholm, an enchanting capital city uniquely spread across 14 interconnected islands. Our tour begins in Gamla Stan, the vibrant old town affectionately known as "the city between bridges." Here, we'll take in the grandeur of the Nobel Prize Museum, nestled beside the historic main square of Stortorget, where homage is paid to Nobel Prize laureates. You will also see the majesty of the Cathedral and the stately Royal Palace. Whenever possible, we will pause at the Fjällgatan viewpoint to marvel at the captivating vistas. Following the guided tour, you'll have time to wander at your own pace. We suggest exploring Stockholm's diverse range of museums and parks. Alternatively, you can opt to visit the City Hall or the remarkable Vasa Museum.
Day 10 - Stockholm
Our journey concludes after breakfast today, leaving you with cherished memories of your travels.
