Day 1 - Athens
Upon arriving in Athens, you will be comfortably transferred to your hotel, where you may take some leisure time to relax or begin exploring the vibrant city at your own pace. In the afternoon, helpful details regarding the commencement of your journey will be displayed on information boards at the hotel reception. This initial day offers a gentle introduction to the culture and energy of Athens, setting the stage for the adventures to follow. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Athens - Mykonos
After breakfast, we'll transfer you to Lavrio Port for a mid-morning cruise departure. Settle in and enjoy the stunning Mediterranean views as we sail towards Mykonos. We will arrive at this enchanting island by early evening. You will have free time to wander and discover its iconic windmills and charming whitewashed houses that sit beautifully by the sea. In the late evening, we will depart Mykonos, spending the night on board the ship.
Day 3 - Mykonos - Kusadasi - Patmos
Today, our Mediterranean cruise takes us first to Kusadasi on the Turkish coast, where you'll have the chance to explore local bazaars and shop to your heart's content before joining our excursion to the ancient city of Ephesus. This city, rich in history, offers a glimpse into the past with its well-preserved ruins. At midday, we'll set sail for Patmos, known as the place where Saint John wrote the Book of Revelation. Upon arrival, you have the option to visit the sacred Cave of the Apocalypse, situated near the Monastery. As night falls, we bid farewell to Patmos. Spend the evening relaxing on board, perhaps enjoying a lively dance in the ship's nightclub. We'll spend the night on board as we continue our journey.
Day 4 - Patmos - Heraklion - Santorini - Athens
Today, we continue our Mediterranean adventure with visits to two remarkable destinations. We begin in Heraklion, the vibrant capital of Crete, steeped in history as the birthplace of the influential Minoan civilisation. You’ll have the chance to explore its bustling streets and perhaps delve into its rich past. Our journey then takes us to the enchanting island of Santorini, renowned worldwide for its stunning landscapes and distinctive blue and white village architecture draped dramatically across the cliffs. Overnight accommodation will be on board as we sail towards our next destination.
Day 5 - Athens
We’ll arrive in Athens early in the morning and embark on an engaging panoramic tour to explore the city's rich history and vibrant culture. Our journey will include a visit to the Presidential Mansion and the iconic Panathenaic Stadium, the venue of the first modern Olympic Games. We’ll admire the grandeur of the National Library and experience the energy of Athens’ bustling downtown squares. Our explorations will also cover the impressive new facilities developed for the 2004 Olympic Games. The tour will culminate at the Acropolis, an ancient site offering stunning views over the city – please note that admission to the Acropolis is not included.
Day 6 - Athens - Kamena Vourla - Kalabaka
Today, we embark on an early morning departure, heading towards the scenic landscapes of northern Greece. Our first stop is the lovely coastal town of Kamena Vourla, a popular tourist destination known for its beautiful surroundings. Continuing north, we will visit the historic Thermopylae Mountain Pass, revered as the site of an epic battle in ancient history. The journey takes us next to Kastraki, a charming village with sweeping views of the valley, where you'll have time to enjoy a leisurely lunch.In the afternoon, we’ll explore the awe-inspiring Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its striking rock formations and ancient monasteries perched atop them. You'll have the chance to visit one of these extraordinary monastic retreats. In the evening, we will proceed to Kalambaka, where a delightful dinner awaits us, offering a perfect end to a day filled with remarkable sights and experiences.
Day 7 - Kalabaka - Delphi - Athens
We will travel south through the Thessaly region, where you'll be treated to stunning landscapes, before arriving in Delphi. Here, we'll explore the exquisite archaeological site – a remarkable place overlooking the Gulf of Corinth with breathtaking views. You'll have some time for lunch before we continue to the Hosios Loukas Monastery. Renowned as one of Greece's most beautiful Byzantine monasteries and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it boasts magnificent 11th-century mosaics that are not to be missed. We will then make our way back to Athens, arriving in the evening.
Day 8 - Athens
Following breakfast, our tour concludes, leaving you with cherished memories of your adventures.
