Day 1 - Athens
Upon your arrival in Athens, we will transfer you to your hotel where you can unwind before the adventure begins. Enjoy some leisure time to familiarise yourself with the vibrant city. Later in the day, logistical details about the start of your tour will be available on the boards at the hotel reception, ensuring you are well-prepared for the exciting journey ahead. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Athens
Our day in Athens begins with a comprehensive city tour led by a knowledgeable local guide. We will visit key landmarks, including the impressive Presidential Mansion, the iconic Panathenaic Stadium—host of the first modern Olympic Games—and the grand National Library. As we walk through the bustling city centre squares, you'll experience the vibrant energy of Athens. We'll also explore the more contemporary districts that sprang up following the 2004 Olympic Games. Our tour concludes at the foot of the Acropolis (entry tickets not included), where you can marvel at this significant historical site. In the evening, we'll provide a transfer to the historical Plaka neighbourhood, where you can wander through its charming streets and perhaps enjoy a meal at one of the delightful Greek tavernas, soaking up the rich cultural atmosphere.
Day 3 - Athens - Kamena Vourla - Kalabaka
On the third day, we embark on an early morning journey towards northern Greece. Our first stop is the tranquil town of Kamena Vourla, a delightful seaside destination nestled amidst beautiful landscapes. Continuing northward, we pause at the historic Thermopylae Mountain Pass, famously known for the legendary battle that took place there. Our travels then lead us to the charming village of Kastraki. Here, you’ll have free time to enjoy lunch amidst stunning views of the valley. Following this, we’ll explore the awe-inspiring Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its stunning monasteries perched on vertical rock pillars. Admission to one of these magnificent monasteries is included in the tour. We conclude our day with a provided dinner in the town of Kalambaka.
Day 4 - Kalabaka - Delphi - Athens
Today, we travel southward through the scenic region of Thessaly, where the landscapes are truly captivating. Our first major stop is Delphi, one of the most significant archaeological sites in Greece, perched on a mountain slope overlooking the stunning Gulf of Corinth. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore and soak up its historic and iconic views. There will also be time to enjoy lunch at your leisure. In the afternoon, we visit the Hosios Loukas Monastery, celebrated for its exquisite 11th-century mosaics and recognised as a World Heritage Site. This Byzantine gem offers a glimpse into the region's rich religious and artistic heritage. We then continue our journey back to Athens, where we plan to arrive in the evening.
Day 5 - Athens - Mykonos
In the morning, we will head to the port to embark on a ferry journey to the stunning island of Mykonos. Upon our arrival, a transfer to the hotel will be arranged. According to mythology, Mykonos is the legendary site of the epic battle between Zeus and the Titans. You’ll have the rest of the day to explore at your leisure. Take the opportunity to wander through Mykonos' charming streets, visit the picturesque area known as Little Venice, and admire the island's iconic windmills.
Day 6 - Mykonos
Following breakfast, you have a full day at your disposal to explore the wonders of Mykonos. We recommend visiting Delos, renowned as the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis, and regarded as one of the most sacred sites in Ancient Greece. Alternatively, you might prefer to unwind on the famous Paradise and Super Paradise beaches, known for their vibrant atmosphere and pristine sands. Whether you choose to delve into history or relax by the sea, Mykonos offers an array of experiences to suit your interests.
Day 7 - Mykonos - Santorini
After breakfast, we’ll make our way to the port and board a ferry bound for the captivating island of Santorini. Once we arrive, we’ll transfer you to your hotel, setting the stage for a day of relaxed exploration. Renowned for its intriguing history and dramatic geological features, Santorini offers a feast for the senses with its breathtaking scenery and iconic whitewashed houses capped with blue domes. Take the rest of the day at your own pace, wandering through this enchanting island and soaking up its unique charm. Please note, the itinerary may do a reverse with Santorini visited first, followed by Mykonos, subject to hotel availability.
Day 8 - Santorini
Start your day with a leisurely breakfast, after which you'll have free time to delve deeper into the charms of Santorini. We suggest a visit to the city of Oia, renowned for its captivating sunsets, or explore the traditional village of Agia Irini, where you can soak up the authentic local atmosphere. For a touch of adventure, you might choose to sail to the hot springs and enjoy the sunset from a classic Mediterranean boat. Alternatively, consider joining a panoramic tour of the island, which includes a delightful Santorini wine tasting to provide a wonderful glimpse into the region’s viticulture.
Day 9 - Santorini - Athens
Following breakfast, we will make our way to the port at the appointed time to board a ferry bound for Piraeus. This journey will see us returning to the mainland, with the ferry expected to dock later in the evening at approximately 11:00 p.m.
Day 10 - Athens
After breakfast, our journey concludes in Athens, leaving you with cherished memories of your travels.
