Winter Athens Exploration

Upon arrival at Athens International Airport, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. After checking in, you will have some free time to relax and freshen up following your flight. Overnight stay in Athens.

After breakfast, we begin a half-day city tour of Athens. Meet your guide and board the coach to explore the city’s striking contrasts. We visit the Panathenaic Stadium, the site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, before passing the Prime Minister’s residence—formerly the Royal Palace—guarded by the Euzones in their traditional uniform. Along the route, we see the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament building with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, and Constitution Square (Syntagma). At the Acropolis, we explore key architectural highlights from Athens’ Golden Age: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion, and the Parthenon, celebrated for its balance of form and spirit. We then visit the new Acropolis Museum to view classical statues and artefacts—note that visiting hours may affect the order of this part of the tour. We return to the hotel around 13:30, leaving the afternoon free for you to savour local cuisine at a traditional taverna or wander the ancient streets at your leisure. Overnight in Athens.

After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, spend the day at your leisure exploring Athens at your own pace. Discover the city’s lesser-known neighbourhoods, browse local shops, or simply soak up the vibrant atmosphere. Overnight in Athens.

After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy your final morning in Athens at your leisure. When the time comes, we will transfer you to Athens International Airport or Piraeus Port for your onward journey or flight home.
