Kick off in Reykjavik and return there at the finish on this 10–day loop through Iceland’s highlands and headline sights. You’ll dip into Viking history at Hella’s caves and Hjalparfoss, then hike the colourful geothermal slopes of Kerlingarfjöll. Expect remote crossings on Sprengisandur, relaxing soaks at Mývatn Nature Baths, and volcanic icons around Lake Mývatn – Dimmuborgir, Hverfjall and Grjotagja. Trace the Diamond Circle for Husavik, Ásbyrgi and roaring Dettifoss, with time in Akureyri for culture or whale watching. Traverse the Kjölur route, hike Landmannalaugar’s rhyolite peaks, and round off with Golden and South Coast highlights – waterfalls, glaciers, ziplines and geysers.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Reykjavik to Hella
You begin your Icelandic journey with pick up from Reykjavik city centre, then embark on the Viking Circle, travelling from Reykjavik to Hella. Along the way, explore the historic Caves of Hella, visit Hjalparfoss Waterfall, and call at the Commonwealth Farm for a glimpse of Iceland's early settlement heritage. You finish the day in the Hella area - overnight at LandHotel or similar.
Day 2 - Gullfoss to Selfoss
Visit Gullfoss Waterfall, then continue into the Kerlingarfjöll highlands to hike through its geothermal landscapes and colourful terrain - ending the day with an overnight at Highland Base in the Selfoss area.
Day 3 - Geothermal Hot Springs & Myvatn
Today, you will travel the remote Sprengisandur route through Iceland's central highlands - a direct crossing of the interior. After the drive, you can enjoy the chance to unwind in the geothermal waters of Jarðböðin Hot Springs. Overnight at Berjaya Mývatn or similar.
Day 4 - Exploring Lake Myvatn
You spend the day exploring Lake Mývatn's volcanic highlights - Höfði's lava pillars along the shore, the striking Hverfjall crater, the dramatic lava fields of Dimmuborgir and the fissure cave at Grjotagja. Set on an active geological rift, the area offers impressive evidence of recent volcanic and geothermal forces, with time for short walks and viewpoints at each stop. Overnight at Berjaya Mývatn or similar.
Day 5 - The Diamond Circle
From Mývatn, you follow the scenic Diamond Circle route, exploring Husavik, Tjörnes, Ásbyrgi and Dettifoss on today's day trip. You return to Berjaya Mývatn for the night.
Day 6 - Godafoss & Akureyri Leisure Time
Visit Goðafoss - the Waterfall of the Gods - then continue to Akureyri to enjoy the northern town's cultural charms. In your free time, you can opt for a whale watching tour or unwind at Forest Lagoon. Overnight at Berjaya Akureyri.
Day 7 - Return to Selfoss
You travel across the remote Kjölur Highland Road - a rugged route through the highlands - then arrive at Highland Base to unwind with a relaxing soak in the hot springs. Overnight at Highland Base or similar.
Day 8 - Hiking Landmannalaugar
You spend the day exploring Landmannalaugar - renowned for its colourful rhyolite peaks - on a rewarding hike through this striking volcanic landscape. After the walk, soothe your tired muscles in natural hot springs before settling in for the night at LandHotel.
Day 9 - South Coast Glacier Hike & Zipline
Set out from LandHotel for a full day exploring Iceland's South Coast - a landscape shaped by volcanoes and ice. You visit the region's key highlights, then step up the adventure with a zipline and a glacier hike. After an active day on the coast, we return to LandHotel for the night.
Day 10 - Golden Circle & Reykjavik
We conclude with the Golden Circle - taking in Hvita Canyon, the Geysir geothermal area, a stop at Friðheimar, and Þingvellir National Park, the historic seat of Iceland's parliament on the rift between the North American and Eurasian plates. We then return to Reykjavik for the night at Berjaya Hotel Marina.
