Itinerary
Day 1 - Delhi
Arrive in Delhi. On arrival at Delhi airport, we meet you for assistance and transfer to your hotel to check in. A private vehicle with driver will remain at your disposal for the rest of the day – you can explore places of interest or head out for dinner at your own pace. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 - Exploring Old & New Delhi
We spend the day discovering Delhi’s contrasts. In Old Delhi we visit the UNESCO-listed Red Fort, the vast Jama Masjid and the bustling lanes of Chandni Chowk, and pause at Raj Ghat – the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. In New Delhi we explore Humayun’s Tomb and the Qutub Minar, both UNESCO World Heritage sites, and the Lotus Temple. Between sights, we drive past the President’s House, Parliament and India Gate to take in the city’s grand avenues. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 - Fly to Varanasi
Delhi – Varanasi (flight). We transfer to the airport for a morning flight to Varanasi (flight not incuded). On arrival we transfer to the hotel and check in. Later, we head out on an excursion to the Sarnath Temple complex. In the evening, we attend the Holy Ganga Aarti. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4 - Exploring Varanasi
We begin at dawn with a boat ride on the Ganges and a visit to the ghats – the riverfront steps central to daily rituals. We then explore on foot through temples, ghats, the Chowk, the bazaar and the narrow galis. Later, we visit Banaras Hindu University, Bharat Mata Temple, Tulsi Manas Temple and the Ramnagar Fort Palace Museum. Breakfast included. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 - Fly to Khajuraho
Varanasi – Khajuraho (flight). We transfer to the airport for our flight to Khajuraho (flight not included). On arrival we transfer to the hotel and check in, then visit the exceptionally well maintained Khajuraho temples, built in a brief span between 950–1050 AD by the Chandela dynasty. In the evening we attend the light and sound show. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 - Khajuraho to Orchha
We travel from Khajuraho to Orchha – a 180 km drive – and check in at the hotel. Later, we visit the Orchha Fort complex and the cenotaphs. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7 - Gwalior Fort & Agra
Orchha to Agra – 220 km. We drive to Agra, stopping en route to visit Gwalior Fort, renowned for its impressive architecture and long history. On arrival in Agra, we check in at the hotel for the night.
Day 8 - Taj Mahal Sunrise, Agra Fort, Fatehpur Sikri, Abhaneri & Jaipur
Rise early for a sunrise visit to the Taj Mahal, then we explore Agra Fort and the tomb of Itmad–ud–Daula. Later we drive 245 km to Jaipur, stopping en route at Fatehpur Sikri – the former Mughal capital – and the historic stepwell at Abhaneri. On arrival in Jaipur we check in to the hotel for the night.
Day 9 - Exploring Jaipur
We spend the day exploring Jaipur’s highlights. We start at Amber Fort, then continue to Jaigarh Fort. Returning to the city, we visit Sisodia Rani Garden, the City Palace, the historic observatory, Hawa Mahal and Birla Temple. We also visit the local market – you can browse at your own pace. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10 - Fly to Hyderabad
Jaipur – Hyderabad (flight). We transfer to the airport in line with your flight schedule and fly to Hyderabad (flight not included). On arrival, we meet you and provide assistance before transferring you to your hotel to check in. Overnight in Hyderabad.
Day 11 - Exploring Hyderabad
We spend the day exploring this 400-year-old city, from Golconda Fort – once the Qutb Shahi stronghold – and the Qutb Shahi Tombs to the old-city landmarks of Charminar and Mecca Mosque. We also visit the Salar Jung Museum and Chowmohalla Palace – former seat of the Nizams. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 12 - Hyderabad to Bijapur
We drive from Hyderabad to Bijapur – 385 km – pausing en route to visit Kalaburagi (Gulbarga) Fort and the Jama Masjid within its walls. We then continue to Bijapur and check in at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 13 - Exploring Bijapur & Transfer to Badami
We spend the morning in Bijapur exploring the fort complex, home to many Adil Shahi–era monuments including Asar Mahal, Bara Kaman, Gol Gumbaz, Jama Masjid, the Malik–e–Maidan cannon, Mehtar Mahal and the Ibrahim Rauza. In the late afternoon we drive 120 km to Badami and check in at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14 - Aihole & Pattadakal Day Trip
We set out from Badami for a full-day excursion to Aihole, home to more than 125 Chalukyan temples and monuments dating from the 6th to 12th centuries, and to Pattadakal, known for its Hindu and Jain temple complex from the 7th and 8th centuries. Returning to Badami, we visit the rock cut cave temples, Badami Fort and the shores of Agastya Lake. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 15 - Gadag & Lakkundi
We leave Badami and drive to Hampi – a journey of 180 km – pausing in Gadag and Lakkundi to visit a few active and ruined temples. On arrival in Hampi we check in at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 16 - Exploring Hampi
We spend the day exploring this UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to the ruined temple complexes of the Vijayanagara Empire along the River Tungabhadra. We visit Hazara Rama Temple, the King’s Balance, Mahanavami Dibba and the Royal Enclosures, the statue of Ugra Narasimha, Virupaksha Temple, Vithala and Lotus Mahal, the Vithala Temple Complex and the ASI Museum. Overnight at hotel.
Day 17 - Fly to Mumbai
We leave Hampi for Hubli airport to board our flight to Mumbai (flight not included). On arrival, we’re met and transferred to the hotel to check in. Later, we take an orientation drive through south Mumbai, passing colonial landmarks including the Gateway of India, Mani Bhavan Gandhi Museum, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Kamala Nehru Park, Crawford Market and Marine Drive. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 18 - Exploring Mumbai
We set out on a guided city tour, taking in Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus – a UNESCO listed Victorian Gothic landmark – the Prince of Wales Museum, now known as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, and Mani Bhavan, associated with Mahatma Gandhi. We also visit Dharavi and Dhobi Ghat – the vast open air laundry. Overnight at hotel.
Day 19 - Mumbai
We arrange your departure transfer to Mumbai airport in line with your flight schedule, ensuring you arrive in good time to check in for your onward flight.
