Later, we explore the city, beginning at Sitabuldi Fort – a historic stronghold partly occupied by the Indian Army – which offers panoramic views and insight into Nagpur’s military heritage. We continue to the 120 feet high Dhamma Chakra Stupa, a Buddhist monument symbolising the Wheel of Dharma; you may wish to pause here for quiet reflection. We conclude at the Central Museum, home to artefacts and exhibits on the region’s cultural heritage (closed on Mondays). Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 - Nagpur to Melghat Tiger Reserve
After breakfast we drive from Nagpur via Amravati to Melghat Tiger Reserve – around 260 km, 5 hours approximately – a scenic journey into a region known for its rich biodiversity. On arrival we check in to our accommodation within the reserve and settle in. We spend the day on guided nature activities, including jungle walks or trekking that highlight the area’s flora and fauna. We also follow trails along the Sipna River, renowned for excellent birdwatching, and enjoy the sounds of the forest. Overnight at the hotel.
