Day 1 - Rome
Welcome to Rome! Upon your arrival, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel for a smooth start to your adventure. Later, our guide will meet you to provide all the essential information you need. You can also find helpful details on the information board at the hotel reception. In the evening, we will take you to Via Cavour, an excellent location for your first taste of Rome, where you'll discover a wide array of restaurants offering Italian, Indian, Chinese, and international cuisine. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Rome
We begin our day in Rome with a guided exploration of this remarkable city, commonly known as the Eternal City. Our three-hour tour seamlessly blends a walking excursion through Imperial Rome with a panoramic bus journey, revealing the rich history and influence of one of the world's oldest civilisations. Our tour will unveil iconic sights, such as the majestic Arch of Constantine, the exterior of the awe-inspiring Colosseum, and the historical Imperial Forums. We will also pass by the expansive Circus Maximus and marvel at the grand Baths of Caracalla. A visit to the Basilica of Saint Mary Major will be included, alongside views of the intriguing Pyramid of Cestius and the formidable Castel Sant’Angelo.Concluding at Vatican City around 11:00 a.m., our guide will extend an invitation for an optional visit to the renowned Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel – a must-see for art enthusiasts.As the day winds down, we’ll transport you to the vibrant neighbourhood of Trastevere, celebrated for its warm and inviting atmosphere and an array of cosy dining options. You can savour a delightful Italian meal while soaking in the local vibe before we return to the hotel, wrapping up the day's adventures at around 8:30 p.m.
Day 3 - Rome - Florence
Today, we depart Rome and travel north, immersing ourselves in picturesque landscapes along the way. Upon arrival in Florence, we'll head straight to Piazzale Michelangelo, where you'll be treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the city. Following this, we stroll to the historic centre, where you'll have some time to enjoy lunch. Our local expert will then guide us on a walking tour through this open-air museum, exploring iconic sites such as the Ponte Vecchio, the magnificent Duomo, and Piazza della Signoria. Afterwards, you'll have the freedom to roam and discover more of Florence at your own pace. As evening approaches, you will find a myriad of dining options, with restaurants offering diverse international cuisines.
Day 4 - Florence - Venice
As we journey across the captivating Apennines, the scenic beauty of these mountains promises to impress. Upon reaching Venice, we'll cross the Giudecca Canal by boat, heading towards the vibrant heart of the city. Here, accompanied by a local guide, we'll explore the enchanting St. Mark’s Square, a true marvel of Venetian architecture. Our visit continues to the renowned Murano Glass Factory, where you'll witness the intricate craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations, creating exquisite glassworks. After this, you'll enjoy some free time to delve deeper into Venice's unique charm. Our accommodation tonight is situated in the Mestre district, providing a convenient base for further exploration.
Day 5 - Venice - Innsbruck - Zurich
After departing from Venice, we will head towards Austria, arriving in the charming town of Innsbruck. Here, you’ll have some leisure time to wander through the historic centre and savour a delightful lunch. Following our exploration of Innsbruck, we will continue our journey, travelling through the picturesque Tyrolean landscapes into Switzerland, arriving in the vibrant city of Zurich by the day’s end.
Day 6 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today, we embark on a journey through awe-inspiring landscapes, marked by towering mountains and pristine lakes. Our first destination is the Interlaken region, where you can marvel at its natural beauty. We pause in Grindelwald for a coffee break before ascending the mountain via cable car. A scenic walk leads us to a suspended bridge—ideal for those seeking a thrill, offering panoramic views of surrounding glaciers. We will enjoy lunch on the mountain, which is included in your itinerary.Following our descent, we travel to Lucerne, one of Switzerland's most enchanting cities. You'll have time to explore its charming streets and take in the picturesque views. Later, we return to Zurich. For those interested in further adventures, our guide will offer an optional full-day excursion starting in the morning. After some free time in Lucerne, you can opt for a rotating cable car ride to the summit of Mount Titlis. Situated over 3,000 metres above sea level, the summit provides breathtaking views of the glacier and the expansive Alps.
Day 7 - Zurich - Strasbourg - Paris
On Day 7, we'll set off from Zurich and head towards the picturesque French region of Alsace, where you'll visit Strasbourg, the region's capital. This city is a charming blend of French and German influences, offering a unique cultural experience. Here, you'll have the opportunity to wander around and get acquainted with its rich history and charming architecture. Following your exploration of Strasbourg, we'll continue our journey towards Paris, arriving in the evening to begin your Parisian adventure.
Day 8 - Paris
On Day 8, we delve into the rich tapestry of French history at the splendid Palace of Versailles. Known for its opulent gardens and grand architecture, Versailles offers a glimpse into the lives of French royalty (admission not included). Once back in Paris, we journey to Montmartre, a picturesque neighbourhood renowned for its artistic flair, vibrant painters, and spirited cabarets. Our exploration of Paris continues with a panoramic city tour, led by a local guide, which unveils the city's majestic avenues and celebrated monuments. We'll then make our way back to the hotel. For those seeking more excitement in the evening, there is an option to attend a variety show.
Day 9 - Paris - Rouen
Our day begins in the heart of Paris with an unforgettable visit to the Eiffel Tower. You’ll have the opportunity to ascend to the second level of this iconic iron structure, with entry tickets included. Following this, we’ll treat ourselves to a delightful boat cruise along the Seine, offering a serene perspective of Paris. In the afternoon, you'll have free time to explore the city at your leisure.Around 4 p.m., we set off from Paris and make our way to Normandy. Our destination is the historic city of Rouen. Upon arrival, you’ll have time to wander through the charming city centre, famous for its medieval architecture, vibrant history, and the magnificent Gothic cathedral, a true testament to the town’s Roman origins. Should wait times at the Eiffel Tower be extended, please note we might adjust our visit schedule for your convenience, either rescheduling the climb to later or to another day.
Day 10 - Rouen - English Channel - Canterbury - London
We will enjoy a leisurely morning exploring the historic heart of Rouen, soaking in the city's rich past. Later, we journey through northern France, heading towards the coast where we will board a ferry to cross the English Channel – a scenic and unique experience. On arrival in England, we visit Canterbury, famous for its towering cathedral and charming historic centre, which exudes a quintessentially English charm. Our day continues with a trip to London. Once in the city, you will have time at your discretion to explore the vicinity of the iconic Tower Bridge, before we proceed to check in at our hotel.
Day 11 - London
Today, we will embark on a panoramic tour of London with a knowledgeable local guide, unveiling the city’s rich cultural tapestry and storied past. Our journey will take us past enduring landmarks such as the Houses of Parliament, the River Thames, and Buckingham Palace, where, on select days, you might witness the iconic Changing of the Guard ceremony. In the evening, join us at a designated meeting point in Piccadilly as we venture through the vibrant streets of Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho. Revered for their dynamic energy, these districts are brimming with theatres and entertainment. With an array of dining options at your disposal, you can savour a delightful dinner before we make our way back to the hotel.
Day 12 - London - Cambridge - York - Durham
We’ll depart from London today, heading north towards the historic city of Cambridge. Here, we’ll take a moment to admire the stunning architecture of its renowned colleges. After enjoying lunch in this charming setting, we’ll continue our journey to York. Famous for its striking cathedral and well-preserved Roman walls, York offers a delightful blend of history and vibrant modern culture along its bustling shopping streets. You’ll have some free time to explore and soak in the atmosphere before we proceed further north. Our day culminates in the lively medieval city of Durham, known for its magnificent cathedral that stands majestically across from the castle.
Day 13 - Durham - Alnwick - Edinburgh
We journey into Scotland today, with our first stop in the charming town of Alnwick. Known for its stunning gardens and grand medieval castle, Alnwick might be familiar to you as it featured in the Harry Potter films. We continue onwards to Edinburgh, arriving around midday. As the capital of Scotland and one of Northern Europe's most vibrant cities, Edinburgh is rich in history and culture. Its monumental centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with the iconic castle overlooking the city's steep streets and verdant parks. We'll explore the city on a panoramic tour led by a local guide, providing insights into its heritage and architectural splendour. Enjoy your evening at leisure in this enchanting city.
Day 14 - Edinburgh - Inverness - Loch Ness - Fort Augustus - Glasgow
Today, we embark on an exciting journey through the breathtaking Scottish Highlands. Our first stop is the charming village of Pitlochry, where you can enjoy a coffee and a pleasant stroll. We then make our way to Inverness, passing by this northern Scottish city near the enigmatic Loch Ness. At Urquhart Castle, you'll be treated to a visit (admission included) and a memorable boat ride on the mysterious dark waters of Loch Ness.Continuing our adventure, we pass Fort Augustus, where you can see its intriguing sluice system. Next, we head to Fort William, a bustling tourist hub nestled at the foot of Ben Nevis, the UK's highest peak. Our journey then takes us south, across high plateaus that often showcase snowy vistas, and along the picturesque shores of Loch Lomond. We arrive in Glasgow by day's end.Important Note: For groups visiting Edinburgh from 15th November to the end of February, the itinerary is adjusted due to shorter days and possible snow. We will depart Edinburgh at 8:00 a.m. for Pitlochry, known for its whisky production, and visit a traditional distillery (admission included). Our route continues to Stirling, where the impressive historic centre is dominated by Stirling Castle (tickets included). After exploring and enjoying lunch, we'll pause for a photo opportunity at The Kelpies, striking sculptures inspired by Scottish mythology. We'll then proceed to Glasgow, reaching there around 5:00 p.m., leaving you some time to explore the city centre.
Day 15 - Glasgow - Belfast - Dublin
On day 15, we depart from Glasgow and make our way through southern Scotland to join a ferry in Cairnryan. This crossing takes us to Northern Ireland, where we'll arrive in Belfast. Known as the capital of Northern Ireland, Belfast is a city that has risen above its historical religious conflicts to become a monumental destination worth exploring. From Belfast, we journey into the Republic of Ireland, concluding our travels for the day in the vibrant city of Dublin. Expect to arrive by evening, leaving you ample time to unwind and perhaps explore the local surroundings.
Day 16 - Dublin
We begin our day with a panoramic tour of Dublin, the tranquil capital of Ireland. Our exploration takes us along the banks of the River Liffey, where we'll visit the city's lush parks, its historic university, and the lively streets of the city centre. Along the way, we'll take in the view of Trinity College's exterior. The afternoon is yours to discover Dublin at your own pace. Please note: In some instances, depending on our arrival and the available daylight, this tour might be conducted the previous afternoon.
Day 17 - Dublin
After enjoying breakfast, our tour concludes in Dublin. We hope you return home with cherished memories from your journey.
