Sorrento Discovery Experience

Upon arrival in Sorrento, make your own way to the hotel and check in. Transfers from Naples airport or train station can be arranged as an optional extra. In the afternoon, at 3pm, we take a hydrofoil to Capri for an exclusive tour. Known as a favourite retreat from ancient times to the present, Capri offers stunning views along the Neapolitan Riviera. We begin with a boat tour around the island, spotting the famous grottoes that have attracted visitors for decades. As evening falls, you’ll be dropped off in Capri town to explore at your leisure. Wander the harbour, browse designer boutiques, and choose from a range of upmarket restaurants or enjoy a classic Caprese salad, a local speciality since the 1950s. Experience the vibrant atmosphere of the town under the night sky before returning to Sorrento later that evening for your overnight stay.

After breakfast, we collect you from the hotel for a journey through history to two of the region’s most significant archaeological sites – Pompeii and Herculaneum. At Pompeii, your guide will lead you along ancient streets, revealing the richly decorated villas of the Roman elite and key public areas such as the Forum. You’ll see the remains of temples and homes, walking on cobbled roads that have stood for nearly two millennia. Following lunch, we continue to Herculaneum, a former seaside town preserved by the same eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Here, you’ll explore the remains of boat houses, marble floors and vivid wall paintings, gaining insight into life in this remarkable ancient settlement. We return to Sorrento for your overnight stay.

After breakfast at the hotel, set out on one of the most scenic tours of your trip. Begin with a stop in Positano, where you can take in the striking cliffside views. Next, spend two hours exploring Amalfi, a historic coastal town known for its charming streets and cathedral. For lunch, we visit Pontone, a quaint village rich in tradition and one of the oldest in the area. In the afternoon, we travel to Ravello to tour Villa Rufolo, a stunning villa famed for inspiring composer Richard Wagner. You will return to Sorrento for your overnight stay.

After breakfast, enjoy your final morning in Sorrento. If time allows, take a leisurely stroll to bid farewell to the city or browse the local shops for any last-minute purchases. When you are ready, we offer an optional transfer to Naples airport or train station to continue your onward journey.
