For something more relaxed, unwind in the Lake Gardens or visit the KL Bird Park. Chinatown offers street food and market stalls, while Jalan Alor is ideal for a casual dinner. Getting around is easy by taxi or public transport, with most attractions centrally located. Browse the optional add ons for this tour, which can easily be added to your booking to enjoy on this day!
Begin today with a visit to the Batu Caves. The caves are a Hindu temple, and the main attraction is the huge statue of a Hindu god at the entrance. To enter the caves, there are 272 steps to climb.
Back in Kuala Lumpur, enjoy an afternoon heritage tour to some of the city's centuries-old colonial structures. This tour covers Jamek Mosque, The Colonial Core, Central Market, Sin Sze Si Ya Temple, Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, Little India, as well as Chinatown. The tour ends back at the hotel, and your final evening in the Malay capital is at leisure.
Kuala Lumpur - Kota Bahru - Besut - Perhentian Islands. Say goodbye to Kuala Lumpur as you are transferred to the airport for your included flight to Kota Bahru, in the far northeast of Malaysia. From here, it's a 1.5 hour transfer to the jetty in Besut and a 45 minute speedboat transfer to the remote and beautiful Perhentian Islands. After checking in to your resort, the evening is at leisure.
With three full free days on the Perhentian Islands, it’s all about balancing relaxation with gentle adventure. Start your days with a swim or snorkel straight off the beach - shallow reefs around Long Beach and Coral Bay are teeming with colourful fish and the occasional turtle. Join a boat snorkelling trip to Shark Point or Turtle Bay for a chance to see blacktip reef sharks or green sea turtles in their natural habitat. For a bit of activity, hike the jungle trails that link the beaches - one scenic route connects Long Beach and Adam & Eve Beach. If you’re certified, the islands offer excellent diving with sites like Sugar Wreck and Tokong Laut. Otherwise, spend an afternoon kayaking along the coast or simply lazing in a hammock with a book.
Perhentian Islands - Besut - Kuala Dungun. Today, you'll trade one tropical paradise for another. Retrace your steps to Kuala Besut by speedboat and then continue down the coast to Kuala Dungun, a drive of about 3 hours. Checking in to your resort, the rest of the day is at leisure. During your stay, you'll be able to book a complimentary 50 minute massage, so perhaps you could enjoy that this afternoon.
During your stay in Kuala Dungun, you have leisure time to enjoy a range of activities that blend relaxation with cultural experiences. Explore the local flora on a guided walk through a Malay herbal garden, leading up to a hill offering panoramic coastal views and opportunities to spot sea eagles. Engage in traditional handicraft classes, such as creating ketupat or paper flower decorations, to immerse yourself in the local culture. For adventure seekers, consider a snorkelling or diving excursion to nearby Tenggol Island, renowned for its vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life. After a day of activities, unwind with a traditional Malay spa treatment, like the Mandi Bunga ritual, which combines floral baths with therapeutic massages to rejuvenate your senses. Or simply kick back on the beach with a cool drink and a good book, it's up to you.
Your tour comes to an end today after breakfast and hotel check out. An included transfer takes you back to Kuala Lumpur International Airport for your onward flight - the journey time is 5.5 hours so don't book your flights before the evening. A transfer to Sultan Ahmad Shah Airport in Kuantan is also included if requested instead. Safe travels!
