Once you have arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, collect your baggage and make your way through customs, where a representative will be waiting in the Arrivals Hall with a sign showing your name.

A private car then takes you on the approximately 25-minute drive into Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian capital that sits at the meeting point of the Kelang and Gombak rivers. It's a city of contrasts, where colonial-era buildings, temples and mosques stand against a backdrop of skyscrapers, including the Petronas Twin Towers, among the tallest buildings in the world.

After breakfast, the day is yours to spend as you wish in Kuala Lumpur. You might explore the city's blend of old and new around the colonial quarter, or head towards the Petronas Twin Towers to admire the skyline up close.

This morning, you're collected from your Kuala Lumpur hotel for the approximately four-hour drive to Taman Negara, one of the world's oldest tropical rainforests, dating back more than 130 million years. Spanning over 4,300 square kilometres across three states, the reserve is home to dense jungle, winding rivers and rugged mountain terrain.

The rest of the day is free to spend independently, taking in the surroundings of the rainforest.

A representative meets you at your accommodation this morning for the three-hour drive on to Cameron Highlands. Established as a British hill station in the 1920s, the highlands sit high in the cool hills of central Peninsular Malaysia, with temperatures typically between 14 and 24 degrees Celsius. Mock-Tudor guesthouses, tea rooms and manicured gardens still lend the area a colonial-era character, and the region is best known for its emerald-green tea plantations rolling across the surrounding slopes.

The remainder of the day is yours to spend independently.

Your driver collects you from your Cameron Highlands accommodation at 7:30 am for the three-hour drive back to Kuala Lumpur, arriving around 10:30 am. From here, you fly on to Phu Quoc, Vietnam's largest island, set in the Gulf of Thailand and known for its white-sand beaches and clear waters.

On arrival, a representative meets you in the terminal and a private transfer takes you on to your accommodation in Duong Dong, a journey of around 30 minutes.

With another free day on the island, you could head further south towards An Thoi, home to some of Phu Quoc's best beaches, or take a boat trip out to one of the smaller islands nearby.

On your final full day in Phu Quoc, the choice of how to spend your time is yours, from the beaches near Duong Dong to the market in town.

Your driver collects you from your Phu Quoc accommodation at 8:40 am for the transfer to the airport, ready for your flight on to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival, you're welcomed by a representative and taken by private transfer into the city centre, a journey of around an hour.

Ho Chi Minh City, still affectionately known to locals as Saigon, is Vietnam's largest city and its commercial and financial hub. Traces of its colonial past remain among the modern skyline, including landmarks such as the Opera House, the Reunification Palace and Notre Dame Cathedral.
