Start in Malé and end in Malé on an 8–day island–hopping adventure across the North Ari Atoll. You’ll explore laid–back local islands like Mathiveri, Ukulhas and Rasdhoo, snorkelling vibrant house reefs where turtles, rays and reef sharks cruise. Expect to see coral gardens, schooling fish and – with luck – playful dolphins at sunset. Along the way you’ll sample hedika with black tea, learn about manta and turtle conservation with local projects, and join a friendly beach clean. Itinerary
Day 1 - Male - Hulhumale
On arrival at Malé International Airport we meet you for assistance, then take the airport shuttle to Hulhumalé – just minutes away – and settle into our guesthouse for a first taste of island life. The rest of the day is yours to unwind – you can wander to the nearby beach and drop into local cafés for a gentle introduction to the Maldives after your flight.
Day 2 - Male - Mathiveri
We take the public speedboat from Malé to Mathiveri, skimming across North Ari Atoll with sweeping ocean views. On arrival we snorkel the island’s house reef, with our guide helping to spot marine life and sharing safe, responsible snorkelling techniques. Between swims we sample traditional Maldivian hedika with black tea and get a feel for daily island life and local flavours. We learn about manta ray conservation and environmental monitoring – our sightings contribute to ongoing research. Later we head out by boat to snorkel vibrant reefs around Mathiveri, watching for turtles, reef sharks and a kaleidoscope of reef fish.
Day 3 - North Ari Atoll - Mathiveri
We snorkel sites rich in coral across the atoll, with chances to see rays, turtles and colourful reef fish, and our guide ensures all wildlife interactions are safe and respectful. In the afternoon you can unwind on the beach or choose to visit nearby Mathiveri Finolhu – its quiet shore and crystal clear lagoon invite a leisurely swim. Throughout the day our guide explains the pressures facing marine life in the Maldives and how local organisations are working to protect these vulnerable ecosystems.
Day 4 - Mathiveri - Ukulhas
We take a boat from Mathiveri to the environmentally pioneering island of Ukulhas, enjoying wide views of the atoll as we cross. With our guide we explore the island, delving into fishing traditions and sustainability initiatives while meeting welcoming locals proud of their community. We learn about turtle research and rescue led by the Olive Ridley Project and discover how our snorkelling photos can support identification. With our guide we snorkel Ukulhas’ easily accessed house reef – keeping a keen lookout for the turtles that often feed here.
Day 5 - Ukulhas
Today is free for you to explore Ukulhas at your own pace – choose to snorkel, dive, paddleboard or simply relax on the beach. As sunset nears you can glide across the calm lagoon by kayak or paddleboard – with luck, rays or sharks may pass silently beneath you.
Day 6 - Ukulhas - Rasdhoo
We take a boat to Rasdhoo – renowned for healthy reefs and frequent shark sightings – and settle into the final island of our journey. We snorkel Rasdhoo’s sites, known for schooling fish and reef sharks, drifting with the currents for natural, unhurried viewing. We explore the island with our guide to learn about local life, while you can pause at cafés or unwind on the beach for a relaxed afternoon. Near dusk we head out to look for playful dolphins as our guide explains their behaviours and characteristics.
Day 7 - Rasdhoo
We snorkel the celebrated sites around Rasdhoo – famed for schooling fish and reef sharks – drifting with the currents for relaxed, natural sightings. We then join a guided community beach clean to support local conservation, rounding off the day with fresh coconut water and a refreshing sea swim.
Day 8 - Rasdhoo - Male
At the end of our island hopping journey we return to Malé by speedboat, arriving around mid morning – ideal for onward flight connections. From Malé harbour we transfer to the airport for departure, with your guide on hand to assist with all onward arrangements.
