Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to Marrakech
Arrive in Marrakech and transfer to your riad. In the afternoon, we receive the vehicle and complete the necessary paperwork
Day 2 - Over the High Atlas to Ouarzazate
Marrakech - Ouarzazate. After a relaxed morning, we begin our drive across the High Atlas Mountains, following the dramatic Tizi n Tichka Pass. We stop along the way to visit the UNESCO-listed Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a striking example of traditional earthen architecture and a backdrop to many films.
Day 3 - Into the Draa Valley and Sahara
Ouarzazate - Chigaga Dunes Sahara. We travel south through the Draa Valley, known for its vast palm groves and fortified villages. In Zagora, we stop to see the local potteries and the historic Koranic Library, before continuing to Mhamid at the edge of the desert. From here, we drive across the rocky desert to the dunes of Chigaga.
Day 4 - Desert Dunes to Dramatic Gorges
Chigaga Dunes Sahara - Dades Gorge. We cross the sand dunes and head north towards the Saghro Mountains, known for their distinctive rock formations, including those at Bab Ighli. The journey continues to the dramatic Dades Gorges, where we stay overnight.
Day 5 - High Atlas Adventure to Ait Bougamez
Dades Gorge - Ait Bougmez. Today is a more challenging drive as we enter the High Atlas on dirt tracks, crossing high mountain passes including the Tizi Ait Imi. We descend into the beautiful Ait Bougamez Valley, often referred to as the Happy Valley for its fertile fields and traditional Berber villages.
Day 6 - Mountain Roads back to Marrakech
Ait Bougmez - Demnate - Marrakech. We drive through striking mountain and gorge scenery to the Berber town of Demnate, then continue back to Marrakech.
Day 7 - Exploring the Red City
We explore Marrakech with a guided tour of its souks and historic palaces. In the afternoon, you are free to explore further at your own pace - perhaps visiting a museum, relaxing in a garden, or enjoying a traditional hammam.
Day 8 - Departure Day
Transfer to the airport for departure.
