Starting in Bled and ending in Koper, this eight–day cycling escape blends alpine calm with Adriatic flair. Spin around Lake Bled, then board a scenic train – 28 tunnels and soaring bridges – before riding beside the emerald Soča to the sun–kissed vineyards of Goriška Brda. You’ll explore hilltop villages, sample local Teran and prosciutto, and discover Karst architecture in Štanjel. Visit the Lipica Stud Farm – home of the white Lipizzaners – with an optional detour to the UNESCO Škocjan Caves. Roll into Italy and follow the Parenzana coastal trail to medieval Koper, with a seaside spin to photogenic Piran via Portorož.

Day 1 - Bled
We begin in Bled.
Day 2 - Bled
Today’s circular ride from Bled winds through pretty Slovene villages – you can add a short detour to Grad Kamen Castle – before we return along the lake shore.
Day 3 - Bled - Kanal
We start early with a scenic train journey along one of the area’s most picturesque lines, passing 28 tunnels, five galleries and 68 bridges. Our ride begins in Kanal, soon joining a newly built cycle path that follows the clear, emerald Soča to the sunlit wine country of Goriška Brda. You can restore your energy with local wines and culinary specialities.
Day 4 -
We spend the day exploring the Brda wine growing region along the ‘peach’ route – through vineyards, orchards and olive groves – riding via small hilltop villages and renaissance manors to a lunch spot with a view.
Day 5 - Štanjel - Lipica
After breakfast, we transfer about 45 minutes to Štanjel, a village of distinctive Karst stone architecture and rich stories. This region is the home of Teran ruby wine and tasty air dried Karst prosciutto. We continue to Lipica, home of the famous white Lipizzaner horses. You can extend the day by cycling to the Škocjan Caves – a UNESCO World Heritage site – or choose a shorter ride.
Day 6 - Lipica - Koper
Before setting off, you can join a guided tour of the Lipica Stud Farm, a unique green estate for the white Lipizzaner horses. We then leave the Karst behind as views open to the Adriatic Sea, briefly enter Italy and join the Parenzana coastal trail on the former narrow gauge line between Trieste and Poreč. Our final two nights are on the coast in the medieval town of Koper, linked to the Venetian Republic until the end of the 18th century.
Day 7 - Koper - Piran - Koper
We follow the Parenzana along the coast, weave among vineyards and pass through tunnels to reach Portorož and then Piran – a town shaped by Venice and widely considered among the most authentic and photogenic on the Adriatic. We return to Koper.
Day 8 - Koper
After breakfast, the tour ends in Koper.
