Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to Montana!

On arrival in Missoula, you will enjoy an included transfer to the hotel. After check-in, the rest of the afternoon is free to relax or head out and explore. There is an included group dinner at 19:00 this evening, so you can to know the rest of the group and our tour guide.

Please note: This tour involves extensive hiking on uneven terrain, covering an average of 5 to 8 kilometres at a time, but sometimes more. Elevation changes range from 50 to 1,000 feet, and both touring and overnight locations are situated at altitudes between 5,000 and 8,000 feet above sea level. Due to the physical demands of this itinerary, participants should be prepared for significant activity.

Day 2 - Bison, Glacier National Park & falls

Missoula - National Bison Range - Glacier National Park - East Glacier Park. Today we journey north, through "Big Sky Country". Our day begins with a visit to the National Bison Range, where we will be able to spot these majestic creatures which once roamed the American plains in astronomical numbers. Since being established in 1908, this reserve has helped the species to re-populate, and there are now around 350 bison in the park.

Following this, we take a scenic drive along the shores of Flathead Lake en route to the charming lakeside town of Big Fork. Big Fork boasts delightful art galleries and restaurants, providing ample opportunity for exploration and a leisurely lunch at your own pace. In the afternoon, we continue our travels through Glacier National Park, heading to the park's eastern side to visit Two Medicine Lake, Running Eagle Falls, Appistaki Falls, and other notable spots. We arrive at our accommodation in East Glacier Park, a small village on the park's outer boundary.

Day 3 - Glacier National Park

Today, we immerse ourselves in the grandeur of Glacier National Park, often referred to as "The Crown of the Continent." Our adventure begins with a scenic drive through the area, passing by St. Mary's on the way to Many Glacier. We will have the entire day to explore the Many Glacier section of the park. You have the option to spend your time hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, canoeing, or simply relaxing on the shores of Swiftcurrent Lake or Lake Josephine. After our day of exploration, we return to our hotel for a free evening in East Glacier.

Day 4 - Rocky Mountains scenery

East Glacier Park - Whitefish. After checking out of the hotel, we head to Saint Mary Lake. Our morning will be spent exploring this area, which includes a scenic cruise on Saint Mary Lake and a short hike to a nearby waterfall. Following lunch, we embark on the world-famous Going-to-the-Sun Road, travelling from Saint Mary Lake to Lake McDonald. This 52-mile drive crosses the Continental Divide at Logan Pass and is renowned for its majestic snow-capped mountains, deep valleys, and shimmering lakes. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the breath-taking views.

In the late afternoon, we arrive at our hotel in the Rocky Mountains resort town of Whitefish, where the evening is free for you to explore the downtown area.

Day 5 - The west of Glacier National Park

Today's itinerary includes a full day of exploring the west side of Glacier National Park, specifically the Goat Haunt and Lake McDonald areas. Activities to consider include hiking, kayaking or canoeing on Lake McDonald, and relaxing at Apgar. After completing the day's adventures, we return to Whitefish for the evening.

Day 6 - Flathead River rafting

We've got one final day of activity in Glacier National Park, and it's a good one! We enjoy a rafting trip on the middle fork of the Flathead River. You can choose between a serene water float or an exhilarating whitewater rafting experience, making this outing perfect for all ages and adventure preferences. Enjoy lunch independently in this charming area before we transfer back to the Montana city of Missoula.

Day 7 - Missoula

This morning, enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel before your included transfer to Missoula Airport for your flights home.
