Itinerary

Day 1 - Las Vegas

Welcome to Vegas! On arrival, make your own way to the hotel, which isn't far from the airport. You can use the complimentary hotel shuttle. The rest of the day is free to settle in or catch a cab into town for dinner and a few drinks on the Strip.

Please note: This tour involves extensive hiking on uneven terrain, covering an average of 5 to 8 kilometres at a time, but sometimes more. Elevation changes range from 50 to 1,000 feet, and both touring and overnight locations are situated at altitudes between 5,000 and 8,000 feet above sea level. Due to the physical demands of this itinerary, participants should be prepared for significant activity.

Day 2 - Route 66 & Grand Canyon

Las Vegas - Kingman - Williams - Grand Canyon National Park - Grand Canyon Village. We depart Las Vegas early this morning at 7:00, making our first stop in Kingman, AZ, where we’ll explore the Route 66 Museum in the Old Kingman Powerhouse and drive along Andy Devine Blvd to experience the charm of this historic route. Afterward, we continue on I-40 to Williams, where we’ll have free time for lunch and the chance to explore this iconic railroad town.

Following lunch, we head north to Grand Canyon National Park. Here, we can hike the South Kaibab Trail, choosing from scenic spots like Ohh Ahh Point, Cedar Rest, or for those feeling adventurous, Skeleton Point. Alternatively, we can take the shuttle to Hopi Point and other viewpoints, or enjoy a scenic walk along the rim from Mather Point to the Geology Museum and El Tovar Hotel. We’ll wrap up the day with a picnic dinner on the canyon’s rim, taking in the breathtaking views of this majestic natural wonder. Tonight's accommodation is in Grand Canyon Village.

Day 3 - Grand Canyon & Horseshoe Bend

Grand Canyon Village - Grand Canyon National Park - Horseshoe Bend - Page. We begin our day by exploring the Hermits Rest area, with an optional hike below the rim and a visit to multiple viewpoints along this section of the South Rim. Afterward, we’ll stop for an an early lunch at the Canyon Village. Once recharged, we continue our sightseeing through Grand Canyon National Park, heading east along the rim. Our first stop will be Grandview Point, where we’ll learn about the history of the first hotel on the canyon’s edge, followed by a visit to Desert Watchtower. From there, we’ll make our way to the historic Cameron Trading Post, where we’ll have the opportunity to admire and purchase authentic Navajo craftsmanship.

In the afternoon, we’ll take in the iconic Horseshoe Bend, a stunning bend in the Colorado River. We’ll soak up breathtaking views of this iconic spot, then wrap up the day watching the sun set over the Vermilion Cliffs, ending a truly unforgettable experience. We're heading to the town of Page for the night.

Day 4 - Antelope Canyon, Hopi Nation & Old Oraibi

Page - Antelope Canyon - Old Oraibi - Winslow. We start the day with an early tour of Upper Antelope Canyon, a stunning sandstone slot canyon renowned for its undulating walls and light shafts. Your Navajo guide will lead you through the canyon, sharing its history and local Navajo culture while helping you capture unforgettable photos.

Next, we travel through the Hopi Nation, beginning with a view of Coalmine Canyon, followed by a brief introduction to Hopi pottery. We’ll stop at the Moenkopi Fields overlook and discuss Hopi agriculture before enjoying lunch at the Hopi Cultural Centre.

In the afternoon, we visit Old Oraibi, the oldest continuously inhabited settlement in North America, and tour the galleries of local Hopi artists, including silversmith Duane Tawahongva. Our final stops include Prophecy Rock, with its captivating petroglyph, and Dawa Park, a box canyon filled with ancient petroglyphs.

We then continue our journey to Winslow, Arizona, where we check into our hotel and enjoy the evening in this charming town.

Day 5 - Petrified Forest National Park & Sedona

Winslow - Petrified Forest National Park - Sedona. This morning, we begin with a tour of Petrified Forest National Park, starting with the vibrant Painted Desert, known for its striking colours and stunning vistas. We’ll also visit a historic Route 66 remnant, offering a glimpse into the past. Afterward, we’ll explore the ancient petrified forests, millions of years old, with various formations and hikes to experience. Learn about these unique geological wonders as we take in more views of the Painted Desert.

After lunch in Holbrook, we head back through Flagstaff and into Oak Creek Canyon for a scenic drive to Sedona. Upon arrival, the evening is yours to enjoy, whether you choose to explore Old Town, visit the Tlaquepaque Arts Village, or hike one of Sedona’s many beautiful trails.

Day 6 - Hiking Sedona, Pink Jeep Tour & Jerome

Sedona - Jerome - Prescott. Start your morning with a hike in Sedona, choosing from Devil’s Bridge, a stunning 166-ft natural bridge, or exploring Oak Creek Canyon, Bell Rock, or other formations. Afterward, experience a classic Sedona adventure with a Pink Jeep Tour of the Broken Arrow Trail, offering unbeatable views of the area’s iconic red-rock landscapes.

Lunch will be on your own in Sedona before we head to Jerome, a historic mining town known for its wild past and once considered one of the richest and most notorious towns in the West. Now a revived artistic hub, Jerome offers fascinating insights into its history. After exploring, we’ll drive over Mingus Mountain and into Prescott, the first state capital of Arizona when it was a territory. The day concludes with dinner on your own in Prescott's charming historic downtown.

Day 7 - Prescott to Scottsdale

Prescott - Scottsdale / Phoenix. Spend the morning exploring the Granite Dells of Prescott, where you can hike, kayak, or simply take in the stunning views of the reservoir nestled among the towering rock formations - kayaking is included! After a few hours, return to the hotel to refresh and check out, then depart for the Scottsdale/Phoenix area. The drive offers picturesque vistas and the iconic sight of the Saguaro Cactus.

Upon arrival in up-market Scottsdale, the evening is yours to enjoy at leisure. Explore the charming Old Town Scottsdale, visit the Desert Botanical Gardens, or take in panoramic views from Camelback Mountain.

Day 8 - Phoenix
