Day 1 - London
Welcome to your tour! Upon arrival in London, we will arrange your transfer to the hotel. You'll have some free time to unwind and perhaps start exploring this vibrant city at your own pace. Later in the afternoon, make sure to check the hotel reception boards for information regarding the commencement of your adventure. Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - London
In the morning, we embark on a city tour of London, taking in some of the city's most iconic sights. We'll explore Westminster, home to the historic Parliament buildings, and enjoy views of the River Thames. In the afternoon, you have free time to explore on your own. Alternatively, you might choose to join us for an optional excursion to the picturesque Thames Valley, where we will visit the charming town of Windsor, renowned for its striking castle. As the day draws to a close, we'll gather at the vibrant heart of London, Piccadilly, and enjoy a leisurely walk through the bustling streets of Leicester Square, Chinatown, and Soho, known for their lively entertainment scene and theatres. Please note that this evening’s programme might occasionally take place on your arrival day. Finally, we’ll return to the hotel by bus, offering you a chance to unwind.
Day 3 - London
On the third day, you'll have the entire day at your leisure to savour the unique charm of London. This is your opportunity to wander through the city and explore its iconic sights, vibrant neighbourhoods, and rich cultural heritage. From world-class museums and historic landmarks to hidden gems and bustling markets, London offers a myriad of experiences waiting to be discovered. Whether you choose to delve into history, indulge in some shopping, or simply relax in one of the city's scenic parks, the day is yours to enjoy at your own pace.
Day 4 - London - Calais - Amiens - Paris
On the fourth day, we leave London behind as we embark on our journey to the continent. A ferry will carry us across the Channel to France, where we’ll stop in Calais before continuing to Amiens. This charming city is renowned for its extraordinary Gothic cathedral. In Amiens, you can stroll along its bustling narrow streets, explore the enchanting floating gardens, or visit the house where the famed author Jules Verne once resided. As the day draws on, we’ll proceed to Paris, arriving by the end of the day, ready to embrace all that the City of Light has to offer.
Day 5 - Paris
In Paris, we begin our day exploring the illustrious Palace of Versailles, marvelling at its beautifully manicured gardens – please note that entrance to the palace is not included. Upon our return to Paris, we take a stroll through Montmartre, a delightful bohemian district celebrated for its artists and lively cabarets. Our exploration of the city continues with a panoramic tour, expertly guided to highlight Paris’s grand avenues and its most iconic landmarks. The day concludes with a return to the hotel, and for those interested in extending the evening’s festivities, there is an optional variety show to enjoy.
Day 6 - Paris
We'll begin our day in the heart of Paris with an excursion to the renowned Eiffel Tower. You'll have the opportunity to ascend to the second floor of this iconic structure—tickets included. Following this, we will enjoy a leisurely cruise along the River Seine, lasting about an hour and fifteen minutes. The afternoon is yours to explore Paris at your own pace—do note that the return to the hotel is not included. If the wait times at the Eiffel Tower are excessively long, we might adjust our schedule to accommodate a visit at a more convenient time—or on Sunday if necessary.
Day 7 - Paris - Burgundy - Beaune - Lyon
Today, we will travel through the heart of France, venturing into the renowned Bourgogne region, famous for its beautiful vineyards and exquisite wines. Our journey begins with a visit to Beaune, a delightful town in the centre of Burgundy, famed for its charming streets adorned with flowers, a historic hospice, and an engaging wine museum. Enjoy your free time here to savour lunch and wander the picturesque surroundings. We then continue on to Lyon, historically the capital of Roman Gaul, strategically nestled between the banks of the Rhône River. The city's historic centre is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and we'll ascend by cable car to the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière, where panoramic vistas of the city await. You'll have leisure time to explore Lyon at your own pace. It's important to note that, on occasion, part of the group may proceed to Chambéry, a nearby city for an overnight stay. In such cases, you'll have the following morning free to explore this medieval-style city, known for its captivating historic centre and majestic castle.
Day 8 - Lyon - Geneva - Zurich
Today, our adventure takes us to the breathtaking landscapes of Switzerland. We start our day by travelling to Geneva, where we'll see the grand Palace of Nations, serving as the European headquarters of the United Nations. Stroll through the charming English Garden to admire the famous flower clock and the impressive Jet d'Eau, the tallest fountain in Europe. After enjoying some lunch, we continue our journey through scenic Swiss countryside, travelling alongside Lake Geneva and Lake Neuch?tel. Our route will take us through the picturesque Three Lakes region, offering stunning views of vast vineyards against a majestic mountain backdrop. We'll make a stop in Neuch?tel, where you can enjoy a leisurely walk along the lake, explore the historic town centre, or visit the captivating 10th-century castle.We conclude the day's journey in Zurich, arriving in the late afternoon. Please note that depending on the number of travellers, the segment from Geneva to Zurich may be via train, in which case there would not be a stop in Neuch?tel.
Day 9 - Zurich
Today we explore Zurich, Switzerland's largest city, renowned for its vibrant financial and cultural scene. Often celebrated for offering the best quality of life globally, Zurich boasts a remarkable mix of history, modernity, and breathtaking natural beauty. With our guide, we'll uncover the highlights of this lively city, famous for its impressive banking institutions and charming old town. Our itinerary includes a leisurely cruise on Lake Zurich, lasting nearly two hours, where we can appreciate the serene waters and stop at quaint villages dotting the shoreline. Our journey takes us to Rapperswil, a delightful village known for its medieval castle, offering a glimpse into the region's storied past. We return to Zurich by train, an ideal way to experience the exemplary efficiency and punctuality of Swiss transport services. Please note that based on group size, public transport might be utilized for transfers to and from the city centre.
Day 10 - Zurich - Lucerne - Zurich
Today promises awe-inspiring vistas as we venture into the heart of Switzerland's majestic landscapes. Our day begins with a journey to the Interlaken region, a renowned area celebrated for its towering mountains and sparkling lakes. Our first stop is the charming village of Grindelwald, where we can relax over a coffee before ascending the mountain via cable car. At the summit, we will stroll along a scenic path that leads to a suspended bridge. For those feeling adventurous, crossing the bridge rewards with unparalleled views of the nearby glaciers. Lunch will be served on the mountain, surrounded by stunning natural beauty.Following our descent, we travel to Lucerne, a picturesque city famed for its medieval architecture and stunning views. Here, you can wander through its inviting streets and savour the vibrant atmosphere. As the day draws to a close, we will return to Zurich to conclude our Swiss adventure.For those looking for an additional alpine experience, the guide will propose an optional excursion starting in the morning. After spending leisure time in Lucerne, you could take a rotating cable car to the summit of Mount Titlis. Standing over 3,000 metres above sea level, it offers striking views of the glacier and the Alps, ensuring a memorable highlight of your Swiss journey.
