Itinerary
Day 1 - Welcome to Zhangjiajie
On arrival in Zhangjiajie, we are met by our local guide and driver and transferred to the hotel, a journey of approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. The remainder of the day is at leisure, giving you time to rest after your journey or explore the surroundings independently.
Day 2 - Avatar Landscapes of Zhangjiajie National Park
After breakfast at the hotel, we ascend by the Bailong Elevator to Yuanjiajie. This dramatic natural platform is surrounded by towering sandstone pillars rising from deep valleys and is home to the famous Hallelujah Mountain, which inspired scenes in the film Avatar.
After lunch, we travel by shuttle bus, approximately 30 minutes, to Tianzi Mountain. Known for its peak forests, cloud seas and striking vistas, Tianzi Mountain offers spectacular views of jagged rock formations, steep cliffs and drifting mist. We descend by cable car and enjoy locally prepared food reflecting the region’s traditional flavours.
We then continue to the Ten-mile Gallery, where we take a return journey on the sightseeing train through this scenic valley, known for its unusual rock formations.
We return to the hotel in the late afternoon.
Day 3 - Grand Canyon and Glass Bridge Adventure
Following breakfast, we visit Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. This impressive landscape is ideal for adventure and exploration, with time allocated for hiking through the canyon. We also experience the world’s highest and longest glass bridge, suspended dramatically above the gorge.
The hiking distance is approximately 5 to 6 kilometres and takes around 2.5 hours. After the visit, we return to the hotel
Day 4 - Farewell Zhangjiajie
After breakfast at the hotel, the morning is at leisure until we transfer to the airport or railway station for onward travel.
