Itinerary
Day 1 - Dubrovnik
Arrive at Dubrovnik Airport, collect your rental car and drive to your hotel for check-in. Begin exploring the city at your own pace, wandering through the charming streets within the ancient city walls. We recommend joining a guided tour of the Old Town, one of the finest medieval towns in the world. Enclosed by impressive stone walls, Dubrovnik was the capital of the historic Republic of Ragusa and is renowned for its palaces, churches and historic monuments. The entire city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering a rich glimpse into its storied past. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
Day 2 - Dubrovnik - Kotor
After breakfast, we depart for Montenegro and arrive in Kotor, a coastal town nestled in a secluded part of the Bay of Kotor. Known historically as Cattaro, Kotor’s old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, featuring a maze of cobbled streets lined with museums, churches, palaces and lively squares filled with local cafés and restaurants—all enclosed by impressive medieval walls. We explore this atmospheric town before climbing approximately two thousand steps to enjoy panoramic views over Kotor and the bay. Later, we savour traditional Montenegrin cuisine in the port area. Overnight accommodation is in Kotor.
Day 3 - Mostar
After breakfast, we leave Kotor and drive to Mostar in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina. Situated on the Neretva River, Mostar is renowned for its striking landscapes and blend of architectural styles. We walk across the iconic Old Bridge, explore the narrow, winding streets, visit the bustling bazaar, a traditional Turkish house, and a beautiful mosque, immersing ourselves in the city’s unique cultural atmosphere. Overnight in Mostar.
Day 4 - Mostar
After breakfast, enjoy a free day to explore Mostar and its surroundings at your leisure. We recommend a drive to Medjugorje, a town in southwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina known for its religious significance. Since 1981, Medjugorje has attracted Catholic pilgrims following reports of ongoing apparitions of the Virgin Mary to local children. Return to Mostar for your overnight stay.
Day 5 - Split - Trogir - Podstrana
After breakfast, check out and leave Mostar behind as we drive towards Split. The city’s highlight is Diocletian’s Palace, built by the Roman emperor known for his bold and sometimes ruthless rule. This remarkably well-preserved palace forms the heart of Split and is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can explore the palace as part of your walk through the city’s cobbled streets. Enjoy free time to shop, have lunch at local restaurants, or relax with a coffee along the famous seafront. Overnight accommodation is in the Split, Trogir, or Podstrana area.
Day 6 - Split - Trogir - Podstrana
After breakfast, you can choose to explore the historic town of Trogir or visit Krka National Park. Trogir is often described as an open-air museum, boasting well-preserved architecture and a rich cultural heritage. The 13th-century Cathedral of St Lawrence stands out with its renowned Radovan portal, a significant medieval masterpiece in the eastern Adriatic. Wander through the Renaissance loggia, narrow streets, and lively squares filled with restaurants, cafés, galleries and shops, all contributing to the town’s vibrant Mediterranean atmosphere. Alternatively, Krka National Park, located along the Krka River, is famous for its series of seven waterfalls set amid pristine natural surroundings. Walking trails lead you to an ethnographic collection and a historic mill, offering insight into the area’s cultural and natural heritage. Overnight in the Split, Trogir or Podstrana region.
Day 7 - Split - Trogir - Podstrana - Dubrovnik
After breakfast, we drive back to Dubrovnik. Upon arrival, you will check in to your hotel and have the remainder of the day at leisure to enjoy the city at your own pace. This is a great opportunity to revisit favourite spots or discover new corners of Dubrovnik before overnighting in the city.
Day 8 - Dubrovnik
Enjoy a leisurely final morning in Croatia savouring breakfast at your hotel. After check-out, drive to Dubrovnik Airport to return your rental car and prepare for your onward flight.
