Itinerary
Day 1 - Mumbai
On arrival in Mumbai, we’ll be there to welcome you and arrange a smooth transfer to your hotel. Standard check-in is from 2 pm – early check-in may be possible if a room is available.
If your room isn’t ready, you can relax in the lobby or explore the nearby area at your own pace. The rest of the day is at leisure – you can unwind after your journey or take a gentle walk to get a first feel for the city. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 - Exploring Mumbai
After breakfast, we begin at the Gateway of India – built to mark the 1911 visit of King George V and Queen Mary – where we board the ferry to Elephanta Island. Crossing the harbour, we take in views of the Arabian Sea and Mumbai’s skyline. On arrival, we explore the UNESCO–listed Elephanta Caves, noted for their rock–cut sculptures and shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva.
We return to the city for a guided tour, visiting the Prince of Wales Museum – now the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya – with its collection of art, artefacts and natural history. We continue to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, a landmark of Victorian Gothic Revival architecture, then drive past Mumbai’s heritage highlights including the High Court, Flora Fountain and the Rajabai Clock Tower. We round off the day in the Kala Ghoda Art Precinct, a hub of the city’s cultural scene. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3 - Fly to Aurangabad & Ellora Caves
After breakfast, we check out and transfer to the airport for the flight to Aurangabad. On arrival, our representative meets us and escorts us to the hotel to check in. Once settled, we head to the Ellora Caves – a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rock cut temples and monasteries – to see remarkable carvings and sculptures reflecting Hindu, Jain and Buddhist traditions from the 6th century CE. We then continue to Daulatabad Fort, a hilltop stronghold with battlements, palaces and the imposing Chand Minar, offering wide views over the surrounding landscape. We return to Aurangabad for an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4 - Ajanta Caves Day Trip
After breakfast, we set out from Aurangabad for a full day excursion to the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Ajanta Caves – a round trip of about 210 km. We explore 30 Buddhist cave monuments, some dating to the 2nd century BCE, admiring frescoes and sculptures that depict the life of the Buddha alongside various deities. We then return to Aurangabad to continue the city tour with visits to Bibi Ka Maqbara – often called the Taj of the Deccan – and the historic Panchakki water mill. After a day rich in art and history, we return to the hotel for a restful night. Overnight in Aurangabad.
Day 5 - Aurangabad
After a leisurely breakfast, check out of your hotel. We’ll transfer you to Aurangabad airport for your onward flight.
