Day 1 - Welcome to Sri Lanka

Welcome to Sri Lanka! Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you'll be met and transferred to Negombo. Check in to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2 - Silver Temple & Sigiriya
Negombo - Ridigama - Sigiriya. After breakfast, travel to Ridigama to visit the historic Ridi Viharaya (Silver Temple). Take part in the meaningful tradition of offering alms to Buddhist monks, a unique cultural experience that provides insight into Sri Lanka's Buddhist heritage.
Explore the ancient temple, built in the 2nd century BC and renowned for its connection to the construction of the sacred Ruwanwelisaya Stupa. Continue to Sigiriya and spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 3 - Sigiriya Rock

Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa - Sigiriya. After breakfast, visit the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built in the 5th century by King Kashyapa. Climb the famous Lion Rock, rising 200 metres above the surrounding jungle, and discover its ancient gardens, water features, and renowned frescoes of the Heavenly Maidens.
Continue with a local village experience, travelling by tractor through scenic village paths before crossing the lake by canoe. Enjoy a traditional cooking demonstration with local villagers, followed by a freshly prepared lunch. Afterwards, return by tuk-tuk through the village countryside.
Continue to Polonnaruwa, the ancient second capital of Sri Lanka and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the impressive ruins, including the Royal Palace, Gal Viharaya’s magnificent Buddha statues, the Audience Hall, Lotus Bath, and other historic temples and monuments.

Day 4 - Dambulla Rock Cave & Aluvihara Temple

Sigiriya - Dambulla - Matale - Kandy. After breakfast, visit the Dambulla Rock Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Sri Lanka’s most impressive Buddhist cave complexes. Explore the five ancient caves, home to over 150 Buddha statues and beautifully preserved murals covering more than 2,000 square metres of walls and ceilings.
Continue to Matale to visit Aluvihara Temple, where the Tripiṭaka (Buddhist scriptures) were first transcribed onto ola leaves for future generations. Learn about this traditional writing technique and see how ancient texts were carefully inscribed using a metal stylus.
Continue to Kandy, stopping en route at an agro village in Matale to discover Sri Lanka’s famous spices and learn about their cultivation and processing. Arrive in Kandy and check in to the hotel, with the remainder of the day at leisure.

Day 5 - Kandy Sightseeing

Today, viisit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, a stunning 147-acre garden originally created as a royal pleasure garden and later expanded during British rule. Explore its impressive collection of tropical plants, trees, and exotic flowers.
Continue with a sightseeing tour of Kandy, the last royal capital of Sri Lanka and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover the city’s rich history with a drive around Kandy Lake, visit the bustling town and bazaar, and explore the arts and crafts centre, gem museum, and traditional lapidary.
In the evening, enjoy a cultural performance showcasing traditional Sri Lankan dance before visiting the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, one of Buddhism’s most revered sites.

Day 6 - Kandy to Hatton
Kandy - Hatton. After breakfast, depart Kandy and travel through the scenic landscapes of Sri Lanka’s hill country to Hatton. Upon arrival, check in and settle into your hotel. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure, enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Day 8 - Yala National Park

Hatton - Yala. After breakfast, depart Hatton and travel south towards Yala, passing through Sri Lanka’s scenic landscapes. Upon arrival, check in to your safari lodge set on the edge of Yala National Park.
In the afternoon, embark on a shared safari with an expert naturalist, exploring the park’s diverse wildlife and landscapes while enjoying included refreshments.
