Itinerary
Day 1 - Bangkok
On arrival at Bangkok International Airport, we’ll meet and greet you and guide you to your transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax and get a feel for the city. You could unwind with a traditional Thai massage, explore local flavours at a nearby restaurant or street stall, and round off the evening with sunset views from one of Bangkok’s rooftop bars – the choice is yours. Overnight in Bangkok.
Day 2 - Bangkok
After breakfast, we set out on a half day Phra Nakorn walking tour. We begin at Wat Ratchanatdaram to see Loha Prasat – a multi tiered, 36 metre high brazen palace and one of only three still in existence worldwide. We then take a short walk to the Golden Mount within Wat Saket, built under King Rama IV, and climb the 344 step spiral path to the chedi for wide views over old Bangkok. Next, we visit Baan Bat, one of the last villages founded by King Rama I in the 18th century to make monks’ alms bowls. We continue to the Giant Swing in Sao Ching Cha outside Wat Suthat – a landmark with roots in Hindu traditions introduced to Thailand around 1,500 years ago – before stepping inside Wat Suthat itself, among the most important and oldest temples of the Rattanakosin era and one of Thailand’s six temples of the highest Royal grade. We pause for a short coffee break, then visit the Tiger God Shrine (Sarn Chao Por Seua), dedicated to a tiger spirit once believed to inhabit the surrounding jungle, where festivals, operas and puppet shows take place year round. We finish with a walk to Ratchadamnoen Klang Road and transfer back to your hotel. Overnight in Bangkok.
Day 3 - Bangkok
After breakfast we set out on a half day Seven Wishes tour. We pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the front of Gaysorn Amarin to meet your guide, then explore on foot as the shrines are all within easy walking distance. After a short introduction, we begin the circuit while your guide explains the history and myths of each deity, their symbols and how to worship appropriately. We visit, among others, Lord Indra, the Erawan Shrine and Phra Phrom – widely known for bringing good fortune – and the elephant headed god Ganesh, associated with creativity and protection from harm. Beside each shrine you’ll find local sellers offering the appropriate items should you wish to make an offering, and you can also make a wish and light a candle. Please dress respectfully for shrine visits – wear sleeves and avoid shorts, vest tops and open toe sandals. Overnight in Bangkok.
Day 4 - Bangkok
We begin with breakfast at the hotel. You then have free time to relax or explore at your own pace before we arrange an unescorted transfer to Bangkok International Airport for your onward flight.
