Day 1 - Prague
Welcome to Prague. On arrival at the airport, we’ll transfer you to your hotel. Please check the information boards in reception for details of the welcome meeting with your guide. In the evening, we’ll transfer you to Old Town Square – a lively hub in the historic centre – where you can choose from numerous restaurants serving Czech, Chinese, Indian and Italian cuisine. We’ll then provide a return transfer to the hotel.
Please note: This tour may have travellers joining or departing at various points along the route, meaning group composition can change during the tour. Please also be aware that depending on group composition, guiding may be in additional languages as well as English.
Day 2 - Prague
Today we explore Prague – the Baroque jewel of Europe – with our local guide on a panoramic tour of its standout monuments. We include admission to Prague Castle, then enjoy an included cruise on the River Vltava for a different perspective on the city. The afternoon is free for you to explore independently.
Day 3 - Prague - Pilsen - Rothenburg - Frankfurt
We depart early from Prague and make a stop in Pilsen in western Bohemia, famed for its beer. You’ll have time to wander the historic centre, taking in the Old Town Square, the cathedral, the Plague Column and the Renaissance town hall. We then cross into Germany and follow part of the Romantic Road to visit Rothenburg – often described as a fairy tale town and considered one of the country’s most beautiful villages. We continue to Frankfurt, Germany’s financial capital, arriving in the evening. On arrival, you’ll have free time in the historic city centre, with a wide choice of restaurants serving Indian, Asian, Italian and international cuisines.
Day 4 - Frankfurt - Cologne - Amsterdam
Leaving Frankfurt, we travel to the Rhine for a scenic cruise between Rüdesheim and St. Goar – the river’s most picturesque stretch. We then continue to Cologne, famed for its immense Gothic cathedral, before crossing into Holland and arriving in Amsterdam in the evening.
Day 5 - Amsterdam
We set out to the quintessential Dutch countryside, starting at Zaanse Schans with its wooden houses, canals and windmills. We then continue to Volendam, a scenic fishing village. From Volendam we take a short boat ride to Marken – once an island, now linked to the mainland by a fixed dike – where houses were traditionally built on stilts to protect against flooding. In the afternoon we return to Amsterdam for a guided city tour, taking in the image of the windmill and the Rembrandt statue, the contemporary South District, and the centuries old craft of diamond cutting around Museum Square. We finish at Central Station, where the tour ends. Your guide will share practical tips for exploring Amsterdam’s canals, street markets and cafés.
Day 6 - Amsterdam - Brussels - Paris
After breakfast we travel south into Belgium, reaching Brussels – just over 200 kilometres from Amsterdam. Before heading into the centre, we make a brief stop to see the Atomium, one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks. In the historic heart of Brussels – the Belgian capital and seat of major European institutions – we take in the magnificent Grand Place, noted for its Flemish Baroque facades, and stroll past the Manneken Pis.In the afternoon, we continue into France, arriving in Paris towards the end of the day.
Day 7 - Paris
We begin with an excursion to the Palace of Versailles – admission not included – renowned for its magnificent gardens. Returning to Paris, we visit Montmartre, the bohemian quarter famed for its artists, painters and cabarets. We then continue with a panoramic city tour led by a local guide, showcasing the city’s grand avenues and iconic monuments, before heading back to the hotel. In the evening, you can choose to attend an optional variety show.
Day 8 - Paris
We begin in central Paris with a visit to the Eiffel Tower. We go up to the second floor – tickets are included. Afterwards, we enjoy a relaxing cruise on the Seine lasting about one hour and fifteen minutes. If queues at the Eiffel Tower are too long, we may adjust the schedule and visit later – or on Sunday – to reduce waiting times. You then have a free afternoon to explore at your own pace – the transfer back to the hotel is not included.
