Itinerary
Day 1 - Mumbai
Arrive in Mumbai. On landing at Mumbai airport, we’ll meet you and transfer you to your hotel for check in — hotel check in and check out time is 12 pm. The rest of the day is at leisure — you can unwind after your flight or take a gentle walk to get a first glimpse of the city, browsing local markets and trying nearby restaurants. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2 - Exploring Mumbai
After breakfast at the hotel, we set out on a Mumbai city tour, starting with a drive along Marine Drive – one of the city’s most striking boulevards. From the Gateway of India we board a motorboat to the Elephanta Caves (closed on Mondays); on arrival, a climb of around 100 steps leads up to the site. We cruise back to the Gateway in the afternoon and continue sightseeing. We view Parliament House from the outside, see Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus – formerly Victoria Terminus – from the outside, stop at Dhobi Ghat to watch the city’s open‑air laundry in action, visit the Prince of Wales Museum (closed on Mondays), and call at Mani Bhawan, where Gandhi laid the foundations for several independence movements. The remainder of the day is free – you can relax or spend time on personal activities. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3 - Fly to Jabalpur & Bandhavgarh National Park
After breakfast, we transfer you to the airport for your flight to Jabalpur. On arrival, we meet you and assist with your transfer to Bandhavgarh National Park – a road journey of around 165 km taking approximately 3.3 hours – before we check in at the resort. Overnight at the resort.
Day 4 - Bandhavgarh National Park
Bandhavgarh National Park. After breakfast at the resort, we head out on morning and afternoon Gypsy safaris in the tiger reserve accompanied by a naturalist. All meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner – and an overnight stay are at the resort. Bandhavgarh lies in the Vindhya hills of Madhya Pradesh, with three core zones – Tala, Magdhi and Khitauli – forming the heart of the 716 sq km Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve, and a further 820 sq km of buffer forest. The park is home to more than 22 species of mammals and around 250 species of birds, including tigers, leopards and sloth bears, as well as langurs, rhesus macaques and deer such as chital and sambar. You may also spot gaur, nilgai and chinkara, while dholes, civets and hyenas are seen occasionally.
Day 5 - Journey to Kanha National Park
Bandhavgarh National Park to Kanha National Park – 215 kilometres, around 4.3 hours by road. We start with breakfast at the resort, followed by a morning safari in Bandhavgarh National Park. After lunch we drive to Kanha National Park and check in at the resort on arrival. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6 - Kanha National Park
Breakfast at the resort, then we head out on a morning jeep safari in Kanha Tiger Reserve with a naturalist. We return for lunch and a short break before an afternoon safari – two game drives today maximise wildlife viewing at different times of day. Dinner and overnight at the resort; all meals included.
Kanha’s broad sal forests and grasslands span roughly 2,000 sq km within the Satpura Range, including the Banjar and Halon valleys. The reserve is home to tigers, leopards, wild dogs, wild cats, foxes and jackals. Deer are plentiful – the hard ground barasingha is a particular highlight – and you may also encounter Indian gaur, blackbuck, spotted deer, sambar, barking deer and four-horned antelope. Nocturnal species such as fox, hyena, jungle cat, civets, porcupine, ratel and hares are sometimes seen outside the park confines. Birdlife is rich, with around 300 species including crested serpent eagle, steppe eagle, vultures, Indian roller, Malabar pied hornbill, grey hornbill, peafowl, red junglefowl, drongos, bee-eaters, parakeets, kingfishers, minivets, flycatchers, lapwings, woodpeckers, egrets, herons, teal and grebes. Reptiles such as Indian python, cobra, krait, rat snake, viper, keelback and grass snake are mostly nocturnal and rarely seen, while turtles and amphibians are found around water bodies.
Day 7 - Journey to Pench National Park
Kanha National Park – Pench National Park (200 kilometres – around 4 hours). After breakfast at the resort, we set out on a morning safari in Kanha National Park. After lunch, we drive to Pench National Park and check in on arrival. Overnight in Pench.

Lunch and dinner are included – overnight at the hotel.
Day 9 - Journey to Satpura National Park
After breakfast we drive 200 km — around 4 hours — from Pench National Park to Satpura National Park and check in to the resort. After lunch we visit the Panch Pandav Caves — legend says they were created by the five Pandava brothers during their 14 years of exile — set on a hilltop with wide views. In 1857 Captain James Forsyth of the British Army, with Subhedar Major Nathoo Ramji Powar, identified the Pachmarhi plateau while en route to Jhansi, after which it developed into a hill station and sanatorium for British troops in the Central Provinces. At sunset we continue to Dhoopgarh, the highest peak in the Satpura Range at 1,350 m — the highest point in Pachmarhi and central India — to watch the day close. Overnight at the resort.
Day 10 - Satpura National Park
Satpura National Park (Pachmarhi) After breakfast at the resort, we head out on three safaris in Satpura National Park, exploring forested hills, streams, waterfalls and valleys rich in biodiversity. Wildlife here includes tiger, leopard, sambar, chital, Indian muntjac, nilgai, four-horned antelope, chinkara, wild boar, bear, black buck, fox, porcupine, flying squirrel, mouse deer and Indian giant squirrel. Birdlife is varied – hornbills and peafowl are commonly seen. The flora features sal, teak, tendu, Phyllanthus emblica, mahua, bel, bamboo and a range of grasses and medicinal plants. We return to the resort for lunch and dinner – overnight at the resort.
Day 11 - Bhimbetka, Bhojpur & Bhopal
Satpura National Park – Bhimbetka – Bhopal (190 km/4 hours approx). After breakfast at the resort, we drive to Bhopal, stopping en route at the Bhimbetka Rock Shelters and Bhojpur. At Bhimbetka, the rock shelters date to the Palaeolithic and preserve some of the earliest traces of human life on the Indian subcontinent, including rock paintings around 30,000 years old and sites linked to Homo erectus. In Bhojpur, we visit the Shiva temple, home to one of India’s largest lingas carved from a single rock. We then continue to Bhopal for hotel check-in. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12 - Exploring Sanchi, Udayagiri & Bhopal
After breakfast at the hotel, we set out on a full-day excursion to Sanchi and the Udayagiri Caves – about 50 km and around one hour from Bhopal. At Sanchi, a UNESCO World Heritage site, we explore the serene hilltop complex of stupas, monasteries, temples and pillars dating from the 3rd century BC to the 12th century AD – where the Buddha is represented through symbols rather than figures.
We continue to the Udayagiri Caves, an early Hindu ritual site extensively carved and reworked under Chandragupta II in the late 4th–5th centuries AD, featuring rock shelters, petroglyphs, ruined structures, inscriptions, water systems, fortifications and habitation mounds that have been only partially excavated.
We return to Bhopal for a city tour – visiting Jama Masjid, Moti Masjid and Taj ul Masajid, along with the arts centre at Bharat Bhawan – before an evening boat ride on the Upper Lake. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 13 - Bhoj Wetland & Agra
After breakfast we visit the Bhoj Wetland – two urban lakes, Bhojtal (Upper Lake) and the man‑made Lower Lake – designated a Ramsar site in 2002 and observed to host more than 20,000 birds annually. Sightings can include white storks, black necked storks, bar headed geese and spoonbills, with recent gatherings of around 100–120 sarus cranes. The Upper Lake supplies about 40% of Bhopal’s potable water. Later we transfer to Bhopal railway station for the Satabdi train to Agra (depart 15:15 – arrive 21:11). On arrival in Agra we assist at the station and transfer you to your hotel for the night.
Day 14 - Taj Mahal & Drive to Delhi
Agra to Delhi. We begin at sunrise with a visit to the Taj Mahal, the ivory‑white marble mausoleum on the banks of the Yamuna commissioned in 1632 by Emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal – it also contains Shah Jahan’s tomb. We return to the hotel for breakfast, then visit Agra Fort, the main Mughal residence until 1638 when the capital moved to Delhi, and Itmad-ud-Daula, the Mughal tomb commissioned by Nur Jahan for her father, Mirza Ghiyas Beg. In the afternoon we drive to Delhi – 210 kilometres, around 4 hours – and check in at the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax. Overnight at hotel.
Day 15 - Exploring Delhi

We take a cycle rickshaw through Chandni Chowk and Khari Baoli Spice Market, then visit Raj Ghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. In New Delhi, we explore Humayun’s Tomb – the first garden tomb in the Indian subcontinent – and Qutab Minar, a 73 metres tall minaret that is a fine example of Afghan architecture, before visiting the Lotus Temple, a Bahá’í House of Worship open to all. We also drive along the city’s ceremonial avenues, passing the President’s House, Parliament House and India Gate. The rest of the day is yours to relax or pursue personal activities. Overnight at the hotel.
