Day 1 - Nagpur to Pench National Park
On arrival at Nagpur airport, we meet you and drive to Pench National Park – approximately 100 km, around 2 hours by road. On arrival, we check you in at the resort. The rest of the day is yours to relax and make use of the resort’s facilities. Dinner is included. Overnight at the resort.
Day 2 - Pench National Park
After breakfast at the hotel, we head into Pench Tiger Reserve for morning and afternoon gypsy safaris with a naturalist – returning to the hotel for lunch between drives. Pench is home to the Bengal tiger and supports 39 species of mammals, 13 reptiles and 3 amphibians. Common sightings include chital, sambar, nilgai, wild boar and jackal, while Indian leopard, sloth bear, Indian wolf, wild dog, porcupine, monkeys, jungle cat, fox, striped hyena, gaur, four‑horned antelope and barking deer also live here. The park is rich in birdlife too, with more than 210 recorded species, including peafowl, junglefowl, Indian roller, drongos, magpie robin, lesser whistling teal, pintail, shoveller, egrets, herons, minivets, orioles, wagtails, munias, mynas, waterfowl and common kingfisher. Lunch, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 - Pench to Kanha
Pench National Park – Kanha National Park (200 km – approximately 5 hours by road). After breakfast at the hotel, we drive to Kanha National Park. On arrival we check in to the resort and have lunch. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure – you can relax and make use of the resort’s facilities. Dinner and overnight at the resort.
Day 4 - Kanha National Park
Kanha National Park. After breakfast at the hotel, we head out on morning and afternoon gypsy safaris in the tiger reserve with a naturalist. Lunch, dinner and overnight at the hotel. Kanha’s vast grasslands cover around 2,000 sq km within the Satpura Range’s Banjar and Halon valleys. Wildlife includes tigers, leopards, dholes, wild cats, foxes and jackals. Among the deer, the hard-ground barasingha – India’s distinctive swamp deer adapted to firm terrain – is a standout. Gaur are present, and sightings may include spotted deer, sambar, barking deer, four-horned antelope and blackbuck. Nocturnal species such as fox, hyena, jungle cat, civets, porcupine, honey badger and hares are generally active at night and are sometimes seen outside the park. Birdlife is prolific, with around 300 species recorded, including black ibis, bee-eaters, parakeets, drongos, Indian roller, hornbills, eagles, kingfishers and mynas. Reptiles like pythons, cobras, kraits, rat snakes and vipers are largely nocturnal – sightings are uncommon – while turtles and amphibians are found around the park’s water bodies.
Day 5 - Kanha to Bandhavgarh
After breakfast at the hotel, we drive 220 km – around 5 hours – to Bandhavgarh National Park. On arrival we check in and have lunch at the resort. The afternoon is at leisure – you can relax and enjoy the resort facilities. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 6 - Bandhavgarh National Park
After breakfast at the hotel, we head out on morning and afternoon gypsy safaris in the tiger reserve accompanied by a naturalist. Lunch and dinner are included, with the evening at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Bandhavgarh National Park lies in the Vindhya Hills of Madhya Pradesh. Its core area – the Tala, Magdhi and Khitauli zones – covers about 716 sq km, with a further 820 sq km of buffer across the Umaria and Katni forest divisions. The reserve supports more than 22 species of mammals and around 250 bird species. Primate sightings include common langur and rhesus macaque. Carnivores include Asiatic jackal, Bengal fox, sloth bear, ratel, grey mongoose, striped hyena, jungle cat, leopard and tiger. Frequently seen herbivores are wild pig, spotted deer, sambar, four-horned antelope, nilgai, chinkara and gaur – the latter the only coarse feeder here. Occasional sightings include dhole, small Indian civet, palm squirrel and lesser bandicoot rat.
Day 7 - Panna National Park
Bandhavgarh National Park to Panna National Park – 210 km – approximately 5 hours by road. After breakfast at the hotel, we drive to Panna National Park. On arrival, we check in at the resort and have lunch. The rest of the afternoon is free – you can unwind and make use of the resort’s facilities. We round off the day with dinner and an overnight stay at the resort.
Day 8 - Panna Safari & Journey to Khajuraho
Panna National Park to Khajuraho – 45 km/about 1 hour. After breakfast, we set out on a morning Gypsy jeep safari in Panna Tiger Reserve with a naturalist. The Ken River sustains these relatively dry forests, which are home to tiger, leopard, Indian wolf, sloth bear, four‑horned antelope, rusty‑spotted cat, caracal and the gharial, as well as six species of vulture. We then visit Pandav Falls, a perennial cascade dropping about 30 metres into a heart‑shaped pool, with caves at its base linked in local tradition to the Pandavas of the Mahabharata. The reserve has a tropical climate and summers can be very hot. In the evening we drive to Khajuraho, check in to the hotel and attend the light and sound show. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 9 - Exploring Khajuraho & Journey to Orchha
After breakfast, we visit the UNESCO World Heritage–listed temples of Khajuraho, exploring several of the exquisitely preserved shrines. Built by the Chandela dynasty in the 11th–12th centuries, they are renowned for their intricate stone carving, including celebrated erotic sculptures. In the afternoon we drive to Orchha (180 km – approx. 4 hours) and check in at the hotel. The rest of the day is free – you can relax or opt for an evening boat ride on the River Betwa. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10 - Orchha, Gwalior Fort & Agra
After breakfast, we tour Orchha, beginning at the Orchha Fort complex with its gateways leading to a large courtyard framed by Raja Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Jahangir Mahal, temples, gardens and pavilions. Look out for the ornate battlements, projecting balconies, open terraces and latticed windows. We then visit Chaturbhuj Temple – a multi level structure blending elements of temple, fort and palace – originally built to enshrine an image of Rama now housed in the Ram Raja Temple, and noted for its tall Vimana.
After sightseeing we drive towards Agra – approximately 220 km, around five hours – stopping en route at Gwalior Fort, set on a hill and known for its architecture and history. Within the well kept complex we see temples, palaces and water tanks, including the Jain temples at the Siddhachal Caves and the Gopachal rock‑cut monuments with numerous Tirthankar idols, as well as Teli Ka Mandir and the Sahastrabahu (Sas–Bahu) Temple. We also visit Gurudwara Data Bandi Chhor, associated with the captivity of Sikh Guru Hargobind under Emperor Jahangir, and key sites such as Man Mandir Palace, Gujari Mahal, Assi Khamba Ki Baoli and Suraj Kund. We then continue to Agra and check in at the hotel. The rest of the day is free – you can relax and make the most of the hotel facilities. Overnight in Agra.
Day 11 - Sunrise at the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort & Delhi
Agra – Delhi (210 km – around five hours). We start at sunrise with a visit to the Taj Mahal, the ivory‑white marble mausoleum on the banks of the Yamuna, commissioned in 1632 by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal and also the site of his own tomb.
After breakfast at the hotel, we explore Agra Fort – the principal residence of the Mughal emperors until 1638 – and Itmad‑ud‑Daula, the elegant tomb commissioned by Nur Jahan for her father, Mirza Ghiyas Beg. In the afternoon we drive to Delhi – approximately five hours – and drop you at the airport for your onward flight.
