Itinerary
Day 1 - Arusha

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport in Tanzania, we meet you and drive you to your hotel for the night.
Day 2 - Tarangire National Park

Arusha - Tarangire National Park. After breakfast at the hotel, leave Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon, you head out on a game drive across open acacia woodland and grass savannah. Tarangire is noted for its large elephant herds – often two hundred strong – and you also look for fringe-eared oryx, lesser kudu and predators including lion, cheetah and leopard.
Day 3 - Ngorongoro, Olduvai Gorge & Serengeti

Tarangire National Park - Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Olduvai Gorge - Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, you depart Tarangire and drive towards the Serengeti, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area via the Malanja Depression. En route you stop at Olduvai Gorge – a world-renowned archaeological site at the foot of the Ngorongoro highlands – to visit the museum showcasing the famous Zinj skull (Zinjanthropus), dated to around 1.8 million years and discovered by Dr Leakey. You then continue into the Serengeti for a full afternoon game drive with picnic lunches.
Day 4 - Serengeti Safari

Spend a full day exploring Serengeti National Park, with morning and afternoon game drives from your tented camp. Tanzania’s largest park at 14,736 sq km, the Serengeti adjoins Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve and is renowned for sweeping plains and prolific wildlife.
Home to around two million wildebeest and a wide range of other hoofed species – including zebra, Thomson’s gazelle, impala, topi, Grant’s gazelle, kongoni, eland, Kirk’s dik–dik, klipspringer, roan, oryx, oribi, waterbuck, buffalo, giraffe and warthog – the plains attract predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, golden jackal and bat–eared fox. Elephants are relatively scarce here, and the few remaining black rhinoceros are largely confined to the Moru Koppies area. You return to your tented camp for the night.
Day 5 - Serengeti National Park

Continue your Serengeti safari with another full day of game drives, maximising wildlife viewing across different parts of the park. Sightings vary – keep watch for large herds and the region’s renowned predators.
Day 6 - Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Crater

Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater. You leave the Serengeti, viewing wildlife as you drive southeast into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. In the afternoon you descend to the crater floor for a full crater tour – an excellent opportunity to see a high concentration of wildlife within an intact volcanic caldera formed during the Rift Valley’s creation. You then continue to the rim for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 7 - Lake Manyara National Park

Ngorongoro Crater - Lake Manyara National Park. After breakfast at the lodge, you drive from Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara National Park for a full afternoon game drive with packed lunch. The shallow, alkaline lake sits at the base of the Rift Valley’s western escarpment – a tranquil setting known for rich birdlife, seasonal flamingos, hippos often seen at close range and the park’s noted tree climbing lions. The park’s mix of savannah, marshes and acacia woodland supports a wide range of wildlife, including butterflies. After the drive, you continue to the night's accommodation.
Day 8 - Fly to Zanzibar

Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha - Zanzibar. After breakfast at leisure, you transfer to Arusha for lunch, then continue to Kilimanjaro International Airport to board your included afternoon flight to Zanzibar.
On arrival in Zanzibar, you are met by our representative and transferred to your resort to begin your beach holiday.
Days 9-11 - Zanzibar at Leisure

Spend three full days at leisure, with time to explore Zanzibar interpedently or unwind at your hotel - no scheduled activities. You can choose to spend your time at leisure or take part in optional activities such as snorkelling, scuba diving or surfing.
Day 12 - Zanzibar

Depending on your departure time, we will collect you from your beach hotel and transfer you to Zanzibar Airport for your flight home. We will confirm your pick-up time in advance – arranged to suit your schedule – to ensure a smooth connection.
