Day 1 - Panama City
We meet you on arrival at Tocumen International Airport and transfer you to your hotel in the city centre. The remainder of the day is yours to rest after the journey or begin exploring Panama City at your own pace. Overnight in Panama City.
Day 2 - Panama City
After breakfast we set out on a half day visit to the Miraflores Locks on the Panama Canal, watching ships rise and descend from the observation terraces. We also explore the museum at Miraflores, where interactive exhibits explain the canal’s history, construction, expansion and global importance. The afternoon is yours to wander Casco Viejo, enjoy local coffee or relax at the hotel. Overnight in Panama City.
Day 3 - Bocas del Toro
This morning we transfer you to the local airstrip for your domestic flight to Bocas del Toro. On arrival, we continue by road to your hotel for a three night stay in a relaxed Caribbean setting. Overnight in Bocas del Toro.
Day 4 - Bocas del Toro
We begin in a calm bay frequented by dolphins, observing these captivating animals responsibly. We continue through mangroves where sloths dwell, then reach Coral Cay for snorkelling among coral gardens and colourful tropical fish. There is a stop for lunch at a typical restaurant on stilts over the sea – meal not included. In the afternoon we arrive at Cayo Zapatilla, among the most beautiful islands in Bastimentos National Marine Park, with white sand beaches, crystal clear waters and trails for exploring or simply relaxing. Overnight in Bocas del Toro.
Day 5 - Bocas del Toro
Today is free for you to sink into the Caribbean rhythm – hire a bicycle, visit nearby beaches or simply unwind by the sea. Overnight in Bocas del Toro.
Day 6 - Puerto Viejo
This morning you walk about 150 metres to our representative’s office to begin the journey to Costa Rica. We travel by boat then overland to Puerto Viejo de Limón, with our team assisting at the border for a smooth and secure crossing – the Costa Rica entry tax is payable in cash. On arrival in Puerto Viejo, you can settle in and enjoy the hotel facilities. Overnight in Puerto Viejo.
Day 7 - Puerto Viejo
A full day at leisure to enjoy the Caribbean coast, its beaches, laid back bohemian vibe and Afro Caribbean cuisine. Optional excursions are available locally if you wish. Overnight in Puerto Viejo.
Day 8 - Sarapiqui
At the agreed time we transfer you by shared shuttle to Sarapiquí, where rainforest takes centre stage. After dark we join a guided night walk in the Tirimbina Biological Reserve, discovering how the forest awakens with frogs including tiny poison dart species, insects, arachnids, reptiles, bats, roosting birds and the tropical night’s natural symphony. Overnight in Sarapiquí.
Day 9 - Arenal
We travel to the Arenal region, home to the majestic Arenal Volcano, lush forests and soothing hot springs. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy the hotel and surrounding nature. Overnight in Arenal.
Day 10 - Arenal
A free day for you to explore Arenal at your own pace – perhaps book nature walks or adventure activities locally if you wish. Overnight in Arenal.
Day 11 - San Jose
At the agreed time we transfer you from Arenal to San José. The remainder of the day is yours to relax at the hotel or head out to explore the city. Overnight in San José.
Day 12 - San Jose
At the agreed time we transfer you to Juan Santamaría International Airport for your return flight.
