Day 1 - San Jose - Palmar Sur - Puntarenas
Upon arrival at Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José, you will make your own way to the gate for your included domestic flight to Palmar Sur, departing between 07:00 and 09:00. On arrival in Palmar Sur, our tour assistant will meet you and transfer you to the port for a 30-minute boat ride to the Osa Peninsula, where you will check in to your hotel. Enjoy a delicious lunch at the lodge, included in your package. If you prefer to rest after your journey, you can relax at the hotel and take advantage of its facilities. Alternatively, you may wish to stretch your legs with a walk along the coastline of this private reserve, soaking up the unique atmosphere of the Pacific jungle. The day concludes with an included dinner at the lodge. Overnight on the Osa Peninsula.
Day 2 - Puntarenas
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at the hotel before setting out on your first Costa Rican adventure. Your guide will collect you for a hike through Corcovado National Park to the San Pedrillo Station, a journey of around three hours. The cool morning is ideal for spotting wildlife and observing the park’s diverse birdlife. Along the trail, your guide will share insights into the rainforest’s fascinating ecosystem. On the return route, you will visit a stunning waterfall where you can refresh yourself in the shaded pools of the flowing river. Continue downriver to the San Pedrillo Park Station, where you will enjoy a generous picnic of fresh fruit and chilled drinks beneath the shade of beach trees. After lunch, relax on the soft sandy beach until the afternoon, then take a short coastal walk back to the lodge for dinner. Overnight accommodation is at the Osa Peninsula.
Day 3 - Puntarenas
After a leisurely breakfast, meet your guide at the hotel’s Gear House to select your flippers and diving mask. We then take a 40-minute boat ride to Caño Island’s ‘Coral Garden’. Along the way, keep an eye out for pilot whales, humpback whales and dolphins. The snorkelling site lies within a marine reserve, offering excellent opportunities to see a variety of fish, manta rays, turtles and small white-tipped sharks. After exploring the underwater world, enjoy a picnic lunch at the rancho on Casa Corcovado’s long beach. The afternoon is yours to relax at leisure before dinner at the lodge.
Day 4 - San Jose
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and at the designated time, board the boat transfer to Palmar Sur airstrip. From there, we take a domestic flight back to Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José (between 07:00 and 09:00 am, included). Upon arrival, you may continue with your onward travel plans.
