Itinerary
Day 1 - San Jose - Sarapiqui
Upon arrival at Juan Santamaría Airport, a representative will meet you and transfer you to your lodge in Sarapiqui. Transfers can also be arranged from hotels in San José. Once at the lodge, you will have free time to relax amid the lush tropical surroundings. Take in the vibrant colours of butterflies and hummingbirds or simply enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature. As evening falls, join a two-hour guided night walk through the rainforest. A naturalist guide will introduce you to the nocturnal wildlife—such as insects, frogs and mammals—offering a unique insight into the forest’s night-time activity. You will spend the night in Sarapiqui.
Day 2 - Sarapiqui
After a hearty breakfast at the lodge, prepare for an exhilarating day on the Sarapiqui River, where we combine adventure with nature. The river features class II–III rapids, winding through lush tropical rainforest, offering both excitement and stunning scenery. Our certified guides will equip you with professional gear and provide a safety briefing and paddling instructions before setting off. You will navigate rapids with names like ‘Roller Coaster’, ‘Superman’ and ‘Air Force’, each delivering a thrilling experience amid vibrant flora and fauna. Midway through the 2.5-hour journey, we pause for a colourful buffet of fresh tropical fruit to recharge. During this break, you can swim or jump from nearby cliffs, while the guides share insights into the local wildlife and plant life. After completing the rapids, enjoy a traditional lunch at our riverside facilities before returning to your hotel to relax and soak up the natural charm of Sarapiqui.
Day 3 - Sarapiqui
Enjoy a final breakfast at the lodge before we collect you at the agreed time for your transfer to either the airport or your hotel in San José, depending on your onward travel plans.
