The optional evening trip to St. Mark’s Square on the 4th day was our favorite. Delightful boat ride was followed by drinks as the sun set. This should be part of the base tour package, not an additional cost. Walking tour of Venice on 5th day. Mostly a standing tour, distance covered was 100 yards. Tour covered same ground walked evening before. Time would better spent inside Doge’s Palace rather than outside talking about it. Book new rooms at Hotel Andreotti. The tour was good, the bus driver was great, felt safe the whole time. Hotels aprt from Florence were all good and the tour guide was helpful. Really disappointed with the hotel in Florence. It was very old, dated, dirty and was definately not 4 star. The food presented for the meal was not great and most were not eating it. The next day everyone was talking about the below par accomodation.
