Itinerary
Day 1 - Warsaw
Welcome to Warsaw. We’ll transfer you to the hotel and you’ll have time at leisure. We’ll provide information in the afternoon – either in person or via the information board at reception.
Day 2 - Warsaw
We’ll begin with a panoramic tour of Warsaw with a local guide – a dynamic capital of nearly two million residents where bold modern architecture stands beside meticulously restored heritage. We’ll stroll the atmospheric Old Town with the Royal Palace, cobbled lanes and façades rebuilt after the devastation of the Second World War and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll visit the Palace of Culture, reflect on the history of what was once the largest Jewish ghetto in Europe, and wander through Łazienki Park with its Chopin Monument. In the afternoon you’ll have free time – perhaps the National Museum, the Warsaw Rising Museum, or exploring the lively city centre with its shops and cafés.
Day 3 - Warsaw - Olsztyn - Elblag Canal - Malbork - Gdansk
After breakfast we’ll head for northern Poland. In Olsztynek we’ll visit the open–air Museum of Folk Architecture (admission included), where traditional wooden houses, old mills and a country church evoke times past. We’ll continue to the Elbląg Canal to visit a museum at the site where boats are hauled over land on rails to overcome changes in elevation. Next we’ll travel to Malbork to tour its mighty castle (admission included – green route), one of Europe’s largest medieval fortresses, built in the 13th century by the Teutonic Order and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll arrive in Gdańsk – formerly Danzig – in the evening; its historic centre is vibrant and beautiful, and you may enjoy an evening stroll.
Day 4 - Gdansk - Sopot - Ferry Sopot Karlskrona
After breakfast we’ll visit the European Solidarity Centre, a striking contemporary space that commemorates the Solidarity movement, including the monument to the fallen workers. We’ll then include admission to the Museum of the Second World War, an impressive institution opened in 2017 that reflects on the 3–6 million lives lost in Poland during that conflict. After time to explore the historic centre, we’ll continue to Sopot, a charming Baltic resort with a long sandy beach and one of Europe’s longest wooden piers offering sweeping sea views. In the evening we’ll board a modern ferry for our journey to Sweden – scheduled departure at 19:30 – with overnight cabins and breakfast included.
Day 5 - Ferry Sopot Karlskrona - Vastervik - Stockholm
After a pleasant crossing we’ll arrive in Karlskrona in southern Sweden at around 06:30. We’ll continue to Stockholm, pausing in Västervik, a charming seaside town with a picturesque historic centre. In the afternoon we’ll reach Stockholm, a beautiful capital spread across fourteen islands in the Baltic Sea archipelago, linked by numerous bridges and ferries. The afternoon is yours to enjoy – perhaps a stroll through the historic centre and visits to its museums and parks.
Day 6 - Stockholm
Today we’ll embark on a panoramic tour of this beautiful capital, built on fourteen interconnected islands. We’ll explore Gamla Stan – also known as the city between bridges – the lively old quarter with monumental buildings such as the Nobel Prize Museum beside Stortorget, the Cathedral and the Royal Palace. Whenever possible we’ll take in superb views from the Fjällgatan viewpoint. Afterwards you’ll have leisure time to explore – we recommend the museums and parks – and you can optionally visit the City Hall and the Vasa Museum.
Day 7 - Stockholm
After breakfast our journey comes to an end, leaving you with wonderful lasting memories.
