Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Siem Reap
On arrival at Siem Reap International Airport, meet your driver (no guide) outside the terminal building, where they will be waiting with a welcome sign displaying your name. Transfer to your hotel for check-in
Day 2 - Discovering Angkor or Day at Leisure
Enjoy a full day at leisure in Siem Reap. No services are provided.
Optional full-day tour: Angkor Temples
At 08:00, begin your exploration of Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmer Empire, founded in the 12th century and largely abandoned in the 16th. Highlights include the South Gate with its striking statues, the Bayon Temple with 54 towers adorned with 216 enigmatic faces, the Baphuon, the Terrace of the Elephants, and the Terrace of the Leper King, believed to have served as a royal cremation platform.
Continue to Ta Prohm, a jungle-clad temple where giant tree roots entwine the ancient stone walls, giving the site an atmospheric, untouched character.
Note: Bayon Temple is undergoing minor renovations, and access to the top level is restricted. The lower levels remain open and provide an excellent opportunity to appreciate the temple’s architecture and carvings.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant (Khmer set menu).
In the afternoon, visit Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992. This vast 12th-century complex covers 81 hectares, with its five towers symbolising the peaks of Mount Meru and the surrounding moat representing the ocean.
Note: When visiting the Bakan tower of Angkor Wat, modest dress is required – shoulders and knees must be covered. Children under 12 are not permitted to climb the tower. The tower is closed on Buddhist Sabbath and religious days (four days each lunar month).
Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.
Day 3 - Tonle Sap and Khmer Heritage (Optional) or Day at Leisure
A day at leisure in Siem Reap. No services are provided.
Optional full-day tour: Tonle Sap Lake, Angkor National Museum, Artisans d’Angkor & Local Market
At 08:00, set out for Tonle Sap, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. Enjoy a boat trip to a floating village, where you can observe the daily life of the communities living on the water. The lake dramatically expands during the monsoon season, creating one of the world’s most productive ecosystems and providing the majority of Cambodia’s inland fish catch.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant (Khmer set menu).
In the afternoon, visit the Angkor National Museum for an introduction to Khmer civilisation, followed by Les Artisans d’Angkor, a workshop where young artisans produce traditional crafts such as sculpture, silk weaving, and lacquerware. End the day with a visit to Siem Reap’s Old Market, a lively spot to browse local produce, handicrafts, and souvenirs.
Return to your hotel.
Day 4 - Siem Reap to the Islands
Siem Reap - Sihanoukville - Koh Rong. In the morning, your driver (no guide) will transfer you to Siem Reap Airport for your flight to Sihanoukville. On arrival, meet your driver (no guide) and continue to the pier for your boat transfer. The journey to Koh Rong takes approximately 45 minutes.
Check in to your island resort and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure on the beach. Optional activities, such as jungle walks, snorkelling, fishing, or diving, can be arranged directly with your hotel.
Days 5-6 - Island Retreat
Two full days to relax and enjoy the idyllic beaches of the Bay of Cambodia, recognised as one of the most beautiful bays in the world.
Optional activities including jungle walks, snorkelling, fishing, or diving are available through your hotel.
