Itinerary

Day 1 - Gongju, Buyeo & Jeonju

Seoul - Gongju - Buyeo - Jeonju. Our tour begins with pick up from the Donghwa Duty Free Shop Building parking lot near Gwanghwamun Intersection in Seoul (unless otherwise specified in your tour documentation). We depart the bustling South Korean capital and head southwest to Gongju, approximately 130 kilometres away, a journey of around 1.5 hours.

In Gongju, we delve into history at the UNESCO-listed Tomb of King Muryeong, renowned for its ancient artefacts and burial treasures from the Baekje Kingdom era. Afterwards, we explore Gongsanseong Fortress, another UNESCO World Heritage site, situated on hills that offer panoramic views.

We then make our way to Buyeo, the ancient capital known for its breathtaking scenery. Visit the legendary Nakhwaam Cliff Observatory, a dramatic vantage point. We can learn about the history of the site, where 3,000 loyal Baekje court ladies chose to leap to their deaths, opting for honour over surrender in the kingdom’s final moments.

From Buyeo, it's a 1 hour drive to Jeonju. Here, we explore the Jeonju Hanok Village, famous for its 700 beautifully preserved Hanok homes. Stroll leisurely through this area before we check into the hotel - your evening is at leisure.

Overnight:Jeonju
Day 2 - Gwangju, Suncheon & Yeosu

Jeonju - Gwangju - Suncheon - Yeosu. After breakfast, we set off for Gwangju, the cultural and political hub of Korea's Honam region. We honour the memory of those who courageously fought for democracy during the 1980 Gwangju Democratic Uprising by visiting the May 18th National Cemetery.

We continue to Suncheon, where we stroll through the stunning Suncheon Bay Garden, an ecological park featuring vibrant flowers, themed gardens, peaceful ponds, and walking paths that reflect Korea's dedication to sustainability and ecological preservation.

Our final stop today is the coastal city of Yeosu. We visit the Historic Site of Admiral Yi Sun-sin’s Path, following in the footsteps of Korea's legendary naval commander known for defending the country from invasions. It's then time to check in to the hotel, and the evening is at leisure.

Day 3 - Busan & Gyeongju

Yeosu - Jinju - Busan - Gyeongju. After breakfast, we leave Yeosu and head toward Jinju. Visit the remarkable Jinjuseong Fortress, where we can walk along the historic walls, gates, and pavilions.

We continue eastward to Busan, known for its lively atmosphere, stunning beaches, and delectable seafood. On arrival, we have a brief stop at Gimhae Domestic Airport to greet additional travellers joining the tour. We then dive into the vibrant local life at Jagalchi Market, Korea’s largest seafood marketplace, bustling with vendors offering fresh daily catches.

Next, we visit Haeundae Beach, loved for its pristine sands and clear waters. Enjoy a peaceful stroll around Dongbaek Park before we depart Busan for Gyeongju, known as "the museum without walls," thanks to its incredible abundance of historical treasures scattered throughout the city. Arriving at our hotel, the evening is at leisure.

Next, we proceed to the Andong Hahoe Folk Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that meticulously preserves authentic Joseon-era architecture. Stroll along the narrow paths lined with traditional Hanok houses. The village gained international recognition when Queen Elizabeth II visited.

We travel from Andong to Wonju, surrounded by the Chiaksan Mountain and the Seom River. Check in to the hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure

Overnight:Wonju

Day 5 - Pyeongchang, Seoraksan National Park & Seoul

Wonju - Pyeongchang - Seoraksan National Park - Seoul. We begin our final day heading to Pyeongchang, the proud host city of the 2018 Winter Olympics. Explore the historic Olympic Ski Jumping Stadium, where world-class athletes once competed with courage and skill. You will visit the stadium area; however, access to the ski jump tower itself is not included.

We continue to Seoraksan National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Famous for its dramatic mountain peaks that rise through mist-covered clouds, vibrant forests, elusive wildlife, and clear streams winding through green valleys, Seoraksan offers stunning views at every twist and turn. You can join an optional cable car ride to Gwongeumseong Fortress, from where you can enjoy sweeping panoramic views of the park's rugged mountain peaks and the valleys below.

After our visit to the national park, we make our way back to Seoul, where you will be dropped at our original pick up point.

Please note: During the peak autumn foliage season in October, Seoraksan National Park restricts the access of large and medium-sized buses due to limited space. If these restrictions are in place, buses will park at C District Square, necessitating a scenic but moderately challenging 3.6km walk to the park entrance. Please be aware that if walking is not feasible for you, a visit to Seoraksan may not be possible during this time.
