Arrive in Corner Brook and check in for your first night in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Corner Brook - Gros Morne National Park - Cow Head. Today, you will be transferred from Corner Brook to Cow Head in Gros Morne National Park. Upon arrival in the late afternoon, join your tour guide and the rest of the tour group.
En route, you will visit one of Newfoundland's top attractions, the Newfoundland Insectarium, which features a butterfly house with up to 1,000 live tropical butterflies.
Cow Head - Gros Morne National Park - Cow Head. Setting off with the group today, we will discover why Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is truly one of the highlights of our trip. Enjoy an included scenic boat tour on Bonne Bay, keeping your eyes peeled for the bald eagles that are often seen soaring over the deep waters of the fjord.
We also visit the Tablelands, a striking mountain of flat-topped rock, typically found deep within the Earth’s mantle. Today promises to be an unforgettable experience, with some saying that the scenery in Gros Morne is unmatched in Eastern Canada.
Please Note: You can request a scenic boat tour on Western Brook Pond and a visit to Broom Point Fishing Premises instead of the Bonne Bay tour and the Tablelands. This option requires a 45-minute walk (3 km/2 miles) to and from the dock. Must be requested at the time of booking.
Cow Head - Grander. As our visit to Gros Morne National Park concludes, we continue our journey through Central Newfoundland to Gander, a town famous for inspiring the hit Broadway musical, "Come From Away".
While in Gander, we will learn about the remarkable hospitality and generosity shown by the local residents during the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks, when 38 diverted planes unexpectedly landed here.
We will also have the opportunity to explore the North Atlantic Aviation Museum, which features a range of artefacts and exhibits chronicling Gander’s significant role in the history of transatlantic aviation.
Gander - Clarenville. Today, we will take a scenic drive along the rugged coastline of Notre Dame Bay to reach the charming outport of Twillingate, where we will explore Long Point Lighthouse and the Prime Berth Fishery & Heritage Centre.
As we journey through Terra Nova National Park, keep your camera ready to capture any wildlife we encounter. Our adventure will then continue on to Clarenville, where we will stay for the next two nights.
Clarenville - Bonavista - Trinity - Clarenville. Today, we will explore two quaint, historic towns. We will begin with a visit to Bonavista, where John Cabot made his first landing in North America in 1497. Here, we will learn about the challenging lives of the lighthouse keepers at the Cape Bonavista Lighthouse Provincial Historic Site.
Afterwards, we continue to the picturesque town of Trinity, where we can stroll through the lanes and admire the numerous historic buildings preserved from the 18th century.
Clarenville - St. John's. We continue to the historic seaport of St. John’s, where we will spend the next two nights. As North America’s oldest city and the capital of Newfoundland, St. John’s boasts a stunning location nestled among the granite cliffs and slopes of the Avalon Peninsula.
Enjoy an included city tour that showcases the Victorian architecture of the downtown area, the bustling modern waterfront, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, the Confederation Building, and the breathtaking panoramic views from Signal Hill.
This morning, we head to Bay Bulls for a memorable highlight of our trip: a boat tour (weather permitting) through the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve, where we can look for puffins and other seabirds. Afterwards, we visit Cape Spear National Historic Site, the most easterly point in North America. The afternoon is free for you to further explore St. John's at your own pace.
Our tour comes to an end today in St. John's, after a final breakfast at the hotel and check-out.
