Day 1 - Arrival in Bogota
Once you've arrived at El Dorado International Airport, a representative meets us and a private transfer takes us to our accommodation.
The rest of the day is free for you to relax and begin taking in the atmosphere of Colombia's capital, a city where tradition and modernity sit side by side comfortably- perhaps take a gentle wander nearby or simply settle in before the tour gets underway.
Day 2 - Free Day in Bogota
Today, you will have a full day free to explore Bogota at your own pace. If you'd like a more structured introduction to the city, you have the option to join a half-day walking tour (minimum 2 travellers, hotel pick-up at 9 am, duration 4 hours), taking in the colourful colonial streets of La Candelaria and the historic Plaza de Bolivar, before visiting the Gold Museum and the Botero Museum.
Day 3 - Bogota - Cartagena
Bogota - Cartagena. At the scheduled time, we check out and take a private transfer to El Dorado International Airport for our 1.5-hour flight to Cartagena. On arrival at Rafael Nunez International Airport, a representative is waiting to take us to our accommodation.
The rest of the day is free for you to relax and start soaking in Cartagena's warm Caribbean atmosphere, where history, culture and the sea come together.
Day 4 - Cartagena City Tour
This morning, we set off on a guided tour of Cartagena de Indias aboard a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, with our guide sharing stories of the city's colonial past and insights into local life. We begin with a panoramic drive along Castillo Grande Bay, taking in its elegant Moorish and Republican-style architecture.
From here, we continue to the Convent of La Popa, perched on a hilltop with the best panoramic views over Cartagena, before moving on to the imposing San Felipe de Barajas Fortress - considered the greatest example of colonial military engineering in South America.
We then stop at Las Bovedas, a historic site now filled with colourful handicraft shops, ideal for local souvenirs, before finishing with a guided walking tour through the Walled City. Its plazas, cobblestone streets and colonial buildings make this UNESCO World Heritage site a fitting way to connect with the heart of Cartagena.
Day 5 - Free Day in Cartagena
Today is free for you to explore Cartagena at your own pace - wander its streets, take in the Caribbean atmosphere, or simply relax at your accommodation. You could also spend the day at one of the nearby beaches.
If you'd like to delve into the region's gem trade, you have the option to join a half-day tour (minimum 2 travellers, hotel pick-up at 8 am, duration 4 hours, not operating on Sundays), visiting the Emerald Museum to learn about the history, geology and craftsmanship behind Colombia's emeralds, before continuing to a jewellery house in the historic centre to view an exclusive collection of emerald pieces.
Day 6 - Departure from Cartagena
After your last breakfast, you check out and take a scheduled transfer to Rafael Nunez International Airport for your onward flight.
