In the late afternoon, we’ll take a walking tour through Milan’s historic centre. Along the way, we’ll admire Milan’s beautiful blend of medieval and Renaissance architecture, with intricate facades and grand arches showcasing the city’s rich history. We’ll also see the striking Duomo, the elegant Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and the renowned La Scala opera house, as well as pass by the medieval Castello Sforzesco, a fortress that once protected the city. We’ll then conclude our tour in the vibrant Navigli district, where we will enjoy Milan’s iconic aperitivo hour, a cherished tradition in the city.

Please note: This tour is designed for younger travellers looking for a backpacker-style experience and to meet like-minded people. Day 2 - Lake Como, Bellagio & Varenna

Milan - Lake Como - Bellagio - Varenna - Milan. Today, we embark on a scenic 1.5-hour train ride to Como, a picturesque town located on the shores of Lake Como, surrounded by rolling hills. Famous as the birthplace of scientist Alessandro Volta, Como is steeped in history and natural beauty. Upon arrival, you’ll have free time to explore the charming streets, visit historical landmarks, wander through beautiful villas, and enjoy breathtaking views.

Next, we’ll board a ferry to Bellagio, a quaint village perched on a hill between the two southern branches of the lake. Known for its charm and elegance, Bellagio is the perfect place to unwind, offering stunning views, boutique shopping, scenic gardens, and a variety of restaurants and bars. You’ll have leisure time to explore at your own pace and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.

Afterward, we’ll take another ferry to Varenna, a picturesque village on the eastern shore of the lake. With its narrow lanes and old fishermen’s houses, Varenna invites you to take a leisurely stroll, admire the views, and perhaps enjoy a gelato or refreshing drink. You’ll have free time to soak in the beauty of this lovely town before we make our way back to Milan in the evening.
