Itinerary
Day 1 - Sirmione
Upon arrival at Lake Garda, make your own way to the hotel in Sirmione and check in. Transfers from Verona, Venice or Milan airports or train stations can be arranged as an optional extra. After settling in, spend the remainder of the day at your leisure, enjoying the charming surroundings. Overnight in Sirmione.
Day 2 - Sirmione
After breakfast, join a small group tour to explore the highlights of Sirmione. Meet your guide just outside the town’s ancient walls before setting off on a boat cruise around the peninsula. From the water, take in stunning views of Lake Garda and the charming town, including the impressive remains of the Roman villa known as the Grotte di Catullo and the natural thermal springs rising from the lake. Following the boat tour, walk through the castle’s historic drawbridge and wander the narrow streets of Sirmione. Your guide will share fascinating stories and local legends that bring this lakeside village to life. After the tour, you have free time to browse the shops or enjoy some gelato in the town centre. Day 3 - Sirmione
After breakfast, join a small group tour at the entrance to the Grotte di Catullo archaeological park. Explore the remains of a grand Roman villa perched at the tip of the peninsula, offering stunning views over Lake Garda. Your guide will share the history of this remarkable site, once home to the poet Catullus, who found inspiration here for many of his works. Discover the villa’s impressive ruins and learn about the lifestyle of its ancient inhabitants as you take in the breathtaking surroundings. This immersive visit offers a fascinating glimpse into the past and the cultural heritage of the area. Overnight in Sirmione.
Day 4 - Sirmione
After breakfast, check out of your hotel in Sirmione. Transfers to the airports or train stations in Verona, Venice or Milan can be arranged as an optional extra to suit your onward travel plans.
