Itinerary
Day 1 - Dubrovnik
Arrive at Dubrovnik Airport, collect your rental car and drive to your hotel for check-in. Begin exploring the city at your own pace, wandering through the charming streets within the ancient city walls. We recommend joining a sightseeing tour of the Old Town, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful medieval towns in the world. Once the capital of the Republic of Ragusa, Dubrovnik is renowned for its impressive stone walls, historic palaces and churches. The entire city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering a rich glimpse into its storied past. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
Day 2 - Dubrovnik - Biograd na Moru
After breakfast, we continue to Biograd na Moru, an ideal base for exploring Paklenica and Krka National Parks. We recommend visiting Krka to admire its stunning waterfalls and enjoying a hike in Paklenica Park, known for its dramatic canyons and diverse trails. Alternatively, you may choose to join our optional three-hour guided tour of Krka National Park to experience the landscape in greater depth (entrance fee payable locally). We spend the night in Biograd na Moru.
Day 3 - Biograd na Moru
After breakfast, enjoy a free day to explore the area around Biograd na Moru at your leisure. This is an ideal opportunity to relax or discover local sights and experiences at your own pace. Overnight in Biograd na Moru.
Day 4 - Biograd na Moru - Split
After breakfast, check out and drive from Biograd to Split. The city’s centre is dominated by the remarkably well-preserved palace built by Emperor Diocletian, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This vast Roman complex forms the heart of Split and offers a fascinating glimpse into its imperial past. You will have free time to explore the cobbled streets, browse local shops, enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant, or relax with a coffee along the lively seafront. Overnight in the Split region.
Day 5 - Split - Mostar
After breakfast, we leave the Split region and drive to Mostar in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina. Situated on the Neretva River, Mostar captivates with its striking landscapes, distinctive architecture, and rich cultural blend. We walk across the iconic Old Bridge, explore the narrow, winding streets, visit the bustling bazaar, the traditional Turkish house, and a beautiful mosque, experiencing the unique fusion of Mediterranean and continental influences. Overnight accommodation is in Mostar.
Day 6 - Dubrovnik
After breakfast, we leave Mostar and drive towards Dubrovnik, crossing the Pelješac Bridge and stopping in Ston. This small town is renowned for its impressive city walls, which stretch for 5 kilometres—longer than those of Dubrovnik—and are considered the longest defensive structure in Europe, often called the ‘European Walls of China’. Ston is also known for its historic saltworks, established in the 13th century, where salt is still harvested using traditional methods. Nearby Mali Ston Bay is famous for its oyster beds, producing some of the finest oysters in the world. If you don’t visit the bay, you can still enjoy these oysters at many restaurants throughout Dubrovnik and the Southern Dalmatian region. We continue to Dubrovnik for an overnight stay.
Day 7 - Dubrovnik
After breakfast, you can explore the streets of Dubrovnik at your leisure, discovering the highlights within its protective medieval walls. We recommend joining a guided sightseeing tour of the old town, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful medieval towns in the world. Once the capital of the Republic of Ragusa, the city is renowned for its impressive stone architecture, palaces, churches and well-preserved city walls. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Dubrovnik offers a wealth of historical monuments to explore. Alternatively, you may choose to book an optional two-hour private tour to uncover the city’s hidden gems with an expert guide. Overnight in Dubrovnik.
Day 8 - Dubrovnik
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast on your final morning in Croatia. After checking out, drive to Dubrovnik Airport to return your rental car and prepare for your departure flight.
