Australia is renowned for its extreme summer weather, and the summer months from December - February can see highs of 45 degrees Centigrade and more. Our tours stay close to the coast, where the majority of Australians live and where the temperatures are more moderate. But it is still recommended to travel during the shoulder seasons and winter from March - November. Temperatures remain pleasantly warm and there is little rainfall during this time, perfect for both sightseeing and beachside relaxation.
As you probably know, Australia is huge! Whilst we do drive between many destination, we also make use of the country's efficient domestic flight network. Domestic flights are included in your tour package and clearly labelled on the itinerary. When travelling by road in Australia, we make use of private coaches and minibuses, and when visiting islands, the use of ferries and other boat travel is also included in your tour where relevant.

The tap water in Australia is high quality and safe to drink. We recommend bringing a reusable water bottle on tour. This will save you money and help to reduce your environmental footprint - a win all round! If travelling in more rural parts of central Australia, tap water quality can vary, and sticking to bottled water may be safer.

As the world's most famous and fragile marine ecosystem, the Great Barrier Reef is arguably the king of Australia's myriad natural wonders. No trip to the Barrier Reef is complete without a boat cruise and snorkelling experience to explore the world beneath the waves. Home to sea turtles, colourful fish, rays and sharks, a visit to the Great Barrier Reef is sure to be a highlight of your Australia trip.
Stretching along Australia's north-eastern coastline, the Daintree Rainforest is the oldest continuously surviving tropical rainforest in the world. It teems with biodiversity and ancient landscapes, and visitors can embark on guided walks, discovering unique flora and fauna, while experiencing the wonder of the Mossman Gorge and its crystal-clear waters. Daintree River cruises provide an opportunity to spot crocodiles and diverse bird species.
Western Australia's answer to the Great Barrier Reef is Ningaloo, a pristine marine ecosystem known for its beautiful coral formations and as the best place in the world to see and swim with majestic whale sharks, the world's largest fish and a gentle giant of the seas. Ningaloo Reef is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and far less crowded and more intimate than the Great Barrier Reef.
