Itinerary
Day 1 - Athens - Corinth - Mycenae - Nafplio - Argos
After an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Athens, we follow the coastal national highway to the Corinth Canal for a short stop. We continue to Mycenae to explore the archaeological site, including the palace complex, the Lionesses Gate and the Tomb of Agamemnon. Before we pause for lunch – not included – you may choose to visit a pottery factory. After lunch, we drive through Argos and proceed to Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece, making a brief stop to see the Venetian fortress of Palamidi and the fortified islet of Bourtzi. You will be dropped in the centre of Nafplio for some free time before making your own way to the hotel. Overnight in Nafplio.
Day 2 - Nafplio - Athens
After breakfast at the hotel, you have the day free to explore Nafplio at your own pace. Set between the sea and surrounding hills, the town is compact and walkable, with neoclassical mansions, cobbled streets and balconies draped in colourful bougainvillea, and a relaxed, elegant feel that makes it a popular weekend escape. At the designated time, please make your way to the pick up point to board the bus for the return journey to Athens – we arrange the transfer.
