Day 2 - Warsaw
We begin with a panoramic tour of Warsaw with a local guide – a vibrant capital where contemporary architecture sits alongside carefully restored heritage. We stroll through the Old Town to see the Royal Palace and cobbled streets – rebuilt after the Second World War and now a World Heritage Site. We visit the Palace of Culture, reflect on the history of what was once Europe’s largest Jewish ghetto, and wander through Łazienki Park to the Chopin Monument. The afternoon is free – you might visit the National Museum or the Warsaw Rising Museum, or simply enjoy the lively city centre.
Day 3 - Warsaw - Olsztyn - Elblag Canal - Malbork - Gdansk
After breakfast we travel north. Our first stop is Olsztynek to visit the open air Museum of Folk Architecture – admission included – where wooden houses, old mills and a traditional church evoke another era. We then continue to the Elbląg Canal to visit a museum that explains how boats are hauled over land on rails to overcome changes in elevation. Next we head to Malbork to tour its vast 13th century Teutonic castle – admission included, green route – a World Heritage Site. We arrive in Gdańsk in the evening, and you can enjoy an atmospheric stroll.
Day 4 - Gdansk - Sopot - Ferry Sopot Karlskrona
After breakfast we visit the European Solidarity Centre, including the monument to the fallen workers, and we include admission to the Museum of the Second World War. There is time to enjoy the historic centre before we continue to Sopot, a lively Baltic resort with a long sandy beach and one of Europe’s longest wooden piers. In the evening we board a modern ferry to Sweden – scheduled to depart at 19:30 – with overnight cabins and breakfast included.
Day 5 - Ferry Sopot Karlskrona - Vastervik - Stockholm
After a smooth crossing, our ferry arrives in Karlskrona around 06:30. We continue towards Stockholm, pausing in Västervik – a pretty seaside town with a picturesque historic centre. In the afternoon we reach Stockholm, a beautiful capital spread across fourteen islands linked by bridges and ferries. The rest of the day is yours – take a gentle stroll through the historic centre or visit museums and parks at your own pace.
Day 6 - Stockholm - Mora
After breakfast we enjoy a guided tour of Stockholm – a waterside capital of fourteen islands. We explore Gamla Stan, the Old Town, taking in the Nobel Museum by Stortorget, the Cathedral and the Royal Palace, and we pause for the view from Fjällgatan. Free time follows. Around 16:00 we leave for the north west, passing hills, farmland, small towns and lakes, and arrive in Mora in the evening – a small city between two lakes where Gustav I found support in 1521 to fight the Danes.
Day 7 - Mora - Funäsdalen - Roros - Trondheim
We depart early for Norway through vast forests, lakes and mountains. Our first stop is Funäsdalen, a popular ski resort, before continuing to Røros for lunch and time to explore this World Heritage mining town – admire its historic centre, former miners’ houses and the museum dedicated to the old foundry. We then travel on to Trondheim on Norway’s central coast – the country’s third largest city – with Viking roots and a medieval past as the nation’s capital. Highlights include its 11th century cathedral and the iconic old bridge over the canal, and you can sample the city’s lively restaurants and nightlife.
Day 8 - Trondheim - Kristiansund - Atlantic Road - Molde
After some time in central Trondheim, we continue along the Norwegian Sea with superb views of coastline and fjords, crossing one by ferry before reaching Kristiansund – traditionally a fishing hub spread over several islands linked by bridges and embankments – where we have time to stroll and enjoy lunch. Later we visit Kvernes Stave Church – admission included – a 14th century treasure housing a remarkable 300 year old ship model and altarpieces dedicated to the Virgin Mary. We then follow the famous Atlantic Road – often considered Norway’s most beautiful ocean drive – crossing eight bridges and pausing at a viewpoint before continuing to Molde for the evening.
Day 9 - Molde - Geiranger - Briksdalsbreen - Loen
Prepare for a day of breathtaking beauty – World Heritage fjords, glaciers and picturesque towns. We begin with a 50 minute ferry across the Romsdal Fjord, ascend snowy mountains and descend to the splendid Storfjorden. Another 30 minute ferry brings us towards the Eagle viewpoint over the Geiranger Fjord. We arrive in Geiranger – its fjord is a World Heritage Site – where you have free time to take a boat trip, follow the waterfall paths or simply relax. After lunch we continue through dramatic scenery to Briksdalsbreen, an awe inspiring glacier set in magnificent nature, with time to walk from the base to the ice on foot or by optional electric vehicle. Dinner is included, then we overnight in Loen by the fjord – you may also choose to ride the steep cable car to over 1,000 metres.

We leave Bergen early and travel deep into Norway, crossing the impressive suspension bridge over the Hardanger Fjord. We pause in Eidfjord, then visit Vøringfossen – often cited as Norway’s most spectacular waterfall – dropping 182 metres, with superb viewpoints and bridges. We continue across stark high plateaus dotted with small lakes – frozen for much of the year – and snowfields to Geilo, a popular ski resort, for lunch. Our journey then leads us to Oslo, arriving in the evening – we suggest exploring the lively centre, strolling the historic harbour and walking on the roof of the modern Opera House.
