Itinerary

Day 1 - Johannesburg

Johannesburg - Pretoria. Arriving into OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg this morning, you will be met by your driver guide and transferred with other members of the group to Zebra Country Lodge 85 km away. Set on a 400-hectare reserve with a variety of African game, this tranquil lodge is just 30 km north-east of Pretoria. En route to the lodge enjoy a half tour of Pretoria, taking in the Voortrekker Monument and Union Buildings.

Upon arrival check in and freshen up before enjoying the lodge's amenities. There's also an optional visit to the Ndebele Cultural Village where you can learn about authentic local Ndebele culture.

Day 2 - The Waterberg Biosphere

Pretoria - Entabeni Reserve. After a leisurely breakfast embark on a nature walk and visit the Reptile Center. On the walk, we have the opportunity of come up close to some of South Africa’s amazing wildlife including giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and antelope. Returning to the lodge check out and we travel on to the Honeyguide Ranger Camp which is located in the beautiful Entabeni Reserve in Limpopo.

Entabeni is part of the 22,000 hectare UNESCO World Heritage Waterberg Bio-sphere and it's one of the most picturesque areas in Southern Africa. This unspoilt, malaria free reserve has five different ecosystems, Big Five game viewing and magnificent scenery, with ravines, canyons and waterfalls.

Upon arrival at Honeyguide Ranger Camp check in, relax and freshen up before enjoying lunch (time permitting). This intimate camp consists of 15 luxury tents built on wooden decks, with thatched roofs, open air showers, a private terrace and homely comforts. This afternoon enjoy your first game drive in the reserve, with views of breath-taking Yellowwood Gorge where the road twists down the escarpment between cliffs, waterfalls and forest. Returning to the lodge enjoy dinner and relax while gazing at the stars or watching the animals pass by as they roam through the unfenced camp.

Days 3-4 - Entabeni game drives

For the next two days enjoy the daily activities included at Honeyguide Ranger Camp. It's an early wake up to the sound of beating traditional drums and tea / coffee is served at your tent before meeting in reception for the morning game drive. Go in search of wildlife in the reserve for the next 3 hours before returning to the camp for breakfast. Then there's the opportunity to enjoy a Bush Walk (dependent upon numbers). Relax at the lodge and enjoy lunch before an afternoon game drive, followed by an al fresco dinner in the evening.

During your time at the lodge there's plenty of time to relax and experience other optional activities that are on offer including hiking, star gazing, spa treatments and Bush Sundowners.

Day 5 - Greater Kruger National Park

Entabeni Reserve - Manyeleti Game Reserve. Enjoy a final morning game drive in Entabeni Reserve and breakfast before checking out and bidding farewell to Honeyguide Ranger Camp. It's a longer drive today as we travel on to Honeyguide Khoka Moya Camp in Manyeleti Private Game Reserve. Bordering the world famous Kruger National Park, nestled between Timbavati and Sabi Sands, Manyeleti is one of the hidden gems of Greater Kruger.Upon arrival at the camp check in, relax and freshen up before enjoying lunch (time permitting) and embarking on an afternoon game drive in search of Africa's Big Five! Manyeleti shares an unfenced border with Kruger and it's an excellent place to see all of the Big Five - lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo.

Days 6-7 - Manyeleti Private Game Reserve

For the next two days enjoy the daily activities included at Honeyguide Khoka Moya Camp. Wake up early to go in search of the Big Five on a morning game drive in Manyeleti Private Game Reserve. Return to the camp for breakfast before heading out on a morning Bush Walk, to get up close to the resident wildlife. Relax back at the camp and enjoy lunch before embarking on an afternoon game drive and enjoying an al fresco dinner at the camp.

There are also plenty of optional activities on offer at Khoka Moya allowing you to fill your days or just sit back and relax between game drives, the choice is yours! Optional activities include safaris in neighbouring Kruger National Park, bird watching from a newly built hide opposite a watering hole, plant life/flora and footprint tracking, wildlife photography and spa Treatments.

Day 8 - Soweto tour & return to Johannesburg

Manyeleti Game Reserve - Soweto - Johannesburg. After a tasty breakfast check out and begin the long drive back to OR Tambo International Airport, with a brief visit to Soweto. In Soweto stop at a local restaurant for a light lunch (own account) before enjoying a tour of Soweto which is one of the biggest black urban settlements in Africa. Soweto was at the centre of political campaigns aimed to overthrow the Apartheid state and it was where the 1976 student uprising started before it spread to the rest of the country. Highlights of our tour include the Mandela House Museum, the Hector Pieterson Memorial and Soweto Township. After the tour transfer to OR Tambo International Airport for your onward journey.

Please note:International flights from OR Tambo International Airport should not depart before 7pm this evening. Alternatively post tour accommodation and transfers can be arranged on request.

Located approximately 23 miles from Pretoria and within a private 400-hectare game reserve home to giraffe, antelope, wildebeest, and yes, zebra, Zebra Country Lodge offers 63 rooms split across four different lodges - Mountain Lodge, Zebra Stables, Bush Lodge, and Zebra Villa. Each lodge boasts its own swimming pool, restaurant, and African boma. Rooms are ensuite and decorated to reflect African culture, with double or twin beds, air-conditioning, TV, and tea and coffee making facilities. There's a restaurant, spa, bar, and garden onsite, as well as lots more outdoor space. And it is possible to enjoy game walks, horse-riding, and other activities in the reserve, which is quite literally on your doorstep!

The Entabeni Safari Conservancy is part of the Waterberg Biosphere, home to five unique ecosystems and the incredible wildlife that comes with it. Honeyguide Ranger Camp is located within this malaria-free reserve, offering a safari experience like no other. Accommodation is in permanent luxury tents and is child friendly, with junior bush walks and game drives available for families. There is a swimming pool, library and free Wi-Fi at the camp and full-board dining is at the onsite restaurant and bar.

Manyeleti Game Reserve

Honeyguide Khoka Moya is a luxury tented safari camp in Mayeleti Private Game Reserve. The camp is located on the banks of a river in the Greater Kruger ecosystem, bordering Kruger National Park. This family-friendly camp offers comfortable permanent tents each featuring queen-sized beds, outdoor decking, ensuite bathrooms and full-board dining. Facilities include a swimming pool and a bar, and all beds feature mosquito nets. The camp is unfenced, so wildlife is free to wander in and around the camp, leading to all manner of incredible experiences.

Manyeleti Game Reserve

Honeyguide Mantobeni is nestled in a Tamboti grove overlooking a dry riverbed within the Manyeleti Game Reserve. The permanent tents at Mantobeni offer an open veranda to allow you to relax as it is elevated on a wooden platform. The furnishings are soft leather couches, extra-length beds, mosquito nets with an open air en-suite bathroom. Relax in the large open tranquil bar area, enjoy the infinity pool, comfortable sun lounges , and watching the wildlife drinking from the nearby waterhole. Children aged 12 years and older are welcome at Honeyguide Mantobeni Camp.

Departure dates are guaranteed with a minimum of 2 persons. The 'Twin/Double' price is per person when there are 2 people sharing a room. The 'Single' price is applicable to all solo travellers, or if your booking party cannot reach the minimum of 2 persons in a room.
