Itinerary
Day 1 - Taiyuan - Lhasa - La Sa Shi
Arrive at Lhasa International Airport or Railway Station, where a representative will meet you and escort you to your private transfer. This will take you directly to your hotel in Lhasa. The remainder of the day is yours to relax and acclimatise after your journey or to explore the city’s charming streets at your own pace. Overnight in Lhasa.
Day 2 - Lhasa - La Sa Shi
After breakfast, we will collect you from the hotel at around 9:00 for a full-day tour of Lhasa. A short 30-minute drive brings us to Potala Palace, the historic residence of the Dalai Lamas and one of Tibet’s most sacred sites, where we will spend approximately an hour and a half exploring its impressive halls. Following this, we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, which is included. In the afternoon, we will visit Jokhang Temple, the oldest temple in Tibet, and stroll along Barkor Street, a bustling market area surrounding the temple. You will be returned to your hotel by approximately 18:00, leaving you the evening free to dine at your leisure and explore the city further. Overnight in Lhasa.
Day 3 - La Sa Shi
After breakfast, we will set out for a full day exploring Lhasa. A short 30-minute drive brings us to Drepung Monastery, the largest monastery in Tibet, where we will spend three and a half hours discovering its halls and gardens. Next, we visit Norbulingka, the Dalai Lama’s summer residence, before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, a 30-minute drive takes us to the northern suburbs of Lhasa to visit Sera Monastery, known for its scriptures written in gold powder and impressive statues. We return to the hotel by around 17:30, leaving you the evening free to relax or explore at your own pace. Overnight in Lhasa.
Day 4 - Lhasa - La Sa Shi
After breakfast, we will collect you at 9:00 for a scenic two-hour drive to Yamdrok Lake, the largest lake in Tibet. Here, we will spend around two hours taking in the serene surroundings and stunning views across the water. A packed picnic lunch is included to enjoy amid this natural setting. We will return to your hotel by approximately 16:30, leaving you the afternoon free to explore Lhasa at your own pace. Overnight in Lhasa.
Day 5 - Lhasa - La Sa Shi
After breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and be transferred to the airport or railway station at the agreed time for your onward journey or return trip. Although this is your final day in Lhasa, the memories of this remarkable city will stay with you long after you leave.
