Day 1 - La Fortuna - San Jose - La Fortuna De San Carlos
Upon arrival at Juan Santamaría Airport, a representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. You will reach the charming village of La Fortuna de San Carlos, the gateway to the impressive Arenal Volcano. After checking in, take some time to rest before preparing for your first unique experience in the afternoon – a visit to the natural hot springs. Surrounded by tropical gardens, pools and thermal waters heated by the volcano’s core offer a soothing escape. Enjoy a relaxing bath amid the lush forest, accompanied by waterfalls and mineral-rich waters. To end the day, savour a delicious dinner, which is included. Overnight accommodation is in La Fortuna.
Day 2 - La Fortuna
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, we transfer to Peñas Blancas for a River Safari Float. Board your raft and, guided by an expert, navigate the lively river while surrounded by the sounds of the jungle. Keep an eye out for local wildlife such as monkeys, iguanas, and Jesus Christ lizards along the riverbanks. Once back at the dock, we visit a local family’s home for a Tortilla Making experience. You’ll be welcomed with a tropical drink in the rancho before enjoying a lunch prepared on a traditional wood-fired stove, included in your day. While lunch cooks, you can try making tortillas from freshly ground corn masa and then savour the homemade tortillas with your meal. We return to the hotel in the afternoon, leaving the rest of the day free for you to relax at your leisure. Overnight in Arenal.
Day 3 - Puntarenas
After breakfast, we transfer you to the Monteverde region, renowned for its exceptional natural beauty. Your journey includes a scenic crossing of Lake Arenal by pontoon boat before continuing to Monteverde town. With your guide, explore the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, celebrated for its rich biodiversity and unique landscapes—from wind-shaped elfin woodlands to towering rainforest trees. Stand on the Continental Divide and take in stunning views of both the Caribbean and Pacific Oceans. After the visit, return to your hotel where you can relax and enjoy the tranquil tropical surroundings at your leisure. Overnight in Monteverde.
Day 4 - San Jose
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and at the arranged time, transfer to Juan Santamaría International Airport for your onward flight. This concludes your journey.
